But Trump was a newcomer then relaying a message of hope. We've been through four years of his presidency now and three and a half of him playing the blame game at everyone and everything other than himself for his loss. During his administration the GOP lost both the House, the Senate, the White House, and multiple governorships and state legislative majorities and much of that continued after his presidency due to his endorsements.

America knows him quite well at this point, so it's nothing like 2016.

Here are the differences:

And I will cede you that point. I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I was looking at the RCP historical polling numbers. Both Clinton and Biden were well ahead of Trump. Harris is tied, so yeah, you may be right, but I don't think you will be. I don't see any big surge showing up on Election Day for the "political outsider" Donald Trump like there was in 2016 because he's no longer an outsider and he's turned off a lot of people since his loss in 2020.
