It allows the reader to follow what part of a post you are referring to and in this case, saves the server space from copying redundant material. Got it? I just took the part of your own statement as you made it to refer to what I wanted to say about it, throwing out the parts which are neither relevant to nor germane to the point that I am trying to make and has nothing to do with the point YOU were originally making.
