Trump Imitates Chinese Communist Party

Wells Fargo and US Bank -two *relatively * responsible actors- were forced to take bailouts, even though they didn't need them. We've been fed so many lies about that "crisis" that it's hard to know whose story to believe.
One of my favorite movies "Too Big Too Fail" was close to the truth.
All banks had to take money to protect the weaker banks.

indeed, most of the players in the Savings and Loan industry; multiple banks and mortgage/loan bundle purchasers; and a very wide variety of US corps as mentioned in the OP. I would proffer multiple defense and aerospace companies had aid at one time or another, and of course DARPA and other government support.

With money they printed up out of thin air, that went to banksters who didn't need it.

They scooped water out of the deep end of the pool, telling you that it was necessary to keep the shallow end from going dry.

We were all sold a massive bill of goods during that fake "crisis".

A bad solution to a bad problem. Sometimes a bad solution is better than not even trying to make one.

No, not socialism.

The liberal administration of Biden/Fauci shut down businesses and schools and arrested people who engaged in their 1st Amendment religious freedom to congregate. If that ain't fascism I don't know what. Is there such a thing as justified fascism if the liberal media tells you it's for your own good?

Banks got greedy. Risk managers were pushed aside. The government was backing all the mortgages under Clinton's "Community Reinvestment Act". When the stupid mortgages failed, the government had to pay up.

Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), a libertarian-minded Republican, criticized the Trump administration’s push to acquire a stake in U.S. chipmaker Intel, suggesting the move would be a “step toward socialism.”

Just curious what the full ownership by USA government of the following is not also "steps toward socialism"?
Examples of Government-Owned or Sponsored Entities:
  • Amtrak: A quasi-public corporation that provides passenger rail service.

  • U.S. Postal Service: An independent establishment of the executive branch of the U.S. government.

  • Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR): A government corporation that provides goods and services to federal agencies.

  • Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC): A government corporation that supports U.S. agriculture.

  • Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC): A government agency that insures deposits in U.S. banks.

  • Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association): A government-sponsored enterprise that buys mortgages from lenders and packages them into securities.

  • Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation): Another GSE that functions similarly to Fannie Mae in the mortgage market.

  • Ginnie Mae (Government National Mortgage Association): A government-owned corporation within the Department of Housing and Urban Development that guarantees mortgage-backed securities.

  • Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA): A federally owned corporation that provides electricity and other services in the Tennessee Valley.
/----/ I trust Trump with Intel, but not democRATs who will stick their fingers in the pot and screw it up.

This is almost too funny. So many are against the government having a 10% share of a company. The same folks that are all in for having Mamdani take over NYC.

Nippon Steel was left out.

Tyranny by the bankers is the worst of the worst, what they did was protect their own asses and leave the rest of us to suffer.
Actually the tyranny of the government under Clinton's "Community Reinvestment Act" was the cause, forcing banks to give mortgages to the unqualified. You should watch the movie "Too Big Too Fail", it shows what happened.

The proper solution was to liquidate the malinvestment...The bailouts rewarded the bad actors.

You're pimping IBT cards for Wall Street banksters.

And then the credit market would collapse, payrolls would be missed, and things would then get even worse.

15th post
Which is why we should have let all the banks go broke.
But "they all" wouldn't have gone broke....There were numerous other banks other than Wells and US Bank that didn't act like idiots, and stood by smart and conservative banking practices....They would have been flush with funds to scoop up the bad paper at a discount.

The smart get rewarded and the stupid get the ole shit sammich.

So did Trump's administration

But, but, but it says in the bill "Community Reinvestment". Most probably don't read beyond the name.
