Trump has failed to decrease grocieries

Grocery prices havent come down here at all. But a president doesnt control nor affect prices. Neither do wage increases within the supply chain.

OP Headline:

"Trump has failed to decrease grocieries"

It's a good thing. We would starve to death.

Must just be at my local grocery store that has lower prices on everything but beef right now... even my beer is lower in price... they have sales all over the store... and my gas is 47 cents lower per gal than under the autopen....
That's the local market at work.

You need to find a new grocery store.... you must be being ripped off... don't blame Trump if you choose to go to gouge and sons market.....

We shop Smith's (Kroger). We get the best deals. But groceries are up not down. You know that.

Why do you support Trump's lies.

We all knew he was lying.

Trump promised lower grocery prices ‘on Day One.’ Here’s what happened

He is such a liar, promising things he can't keep, just like the dweebs (jroc and jknowgood and Patriot, come to mind, among others here).

He is such a disappointment.

(NEXSTAR) – Campaigning for office a year ago, standing in front of a table loaded up with bags of flour, cartons of eggs and gallons of milk, President Donald Trump told voters, “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One.”

Unfortunately for him – and money-strapped Americans – it hasn’t worked out that way.

Nexstar employees around the country tracked a selection of grocery items over the past six months to see if prices would rise, fall or stay the same after Trump took office in January. Our observations, as well as federal data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), show grocery prices overall have remained stubbornly high and even increased slightly.

The overall cost of food at home has ticked up between 0.2% and 0.4% almost every month since January, according to BLS tracking. One exception was in April 2025, when prices went down 0.1% from the month before. All those tiny increases have added up to a 3% increase in food prices year-over-year.

The situation at any given grocery store is more nuanced and varied than the top-line national average would indicate.

Goods that are shelf-stable also turned out to be pretty price-stable at the grocery stores we checked in San Jose, California; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Bismarck, North Dakota between January and July of 2025. The price of a box of cookies didn’t change at all over the six-month period.

Find a new store... prices are down... I basically buy the same items every two weeks and I'm spending 40 bucks less than a year ago... fresh fish is down.... I can get rockfish for 12 dollars a pound where it was 15 under the autopen...
Bacon is way lower and so are eggs and bread...

Trump has inflation down to 1.8%.

Nuff said.

  • Overall slowdown in inflation: Food price growth in 2024 has continued to slow compared to the previous two years. This trend is reflected in the Bureau of Labor Statistics data, which shows a significant drop in the overall food price index from July 2024 to July 2025... particularly for food consumed at home.

Reports indicate grocery prices are stabilizing or even decreasing... they are not still rising like under the autopen...

Biden caused prices to go up......but it's easier to raise prices than it is to make them go down.

I drink bud light and can get a 18 pack of bottles for $17 dollars... sometimes they run deals if you buy two 18 packs they sell them for 15 bucks each... under Biden that same 18 pack was over 23 bucks...
Eggs have dropped from $9 per dozen for cheap eggs now you can get that dozen for $6 and free range eggs are $9... bread is down most meats except beef are lower... take the time to compare and save your receipts...
You can't trust the MSM and these TDsers for the truth...

As with any economic system, some items are lower, others the same. The rate at which they were increasing has drastically slowed.

I remember a $1 overnight price hike for pasta just a few years back. Now, pasta is down.

The only thing that seems to remain stubbornly high is beef.
