Trump hands the Canadian election to liberal Carney

Sounds like what is happening is that the left parties' voter will align behind the liberal party. It isn't dissimilar to what has happened in Europe pre-Trump to make sure the radical right loses.

That’s because 4 out the 5 Canadian main political parties, are liberals, so the liberal vote is always split.

The far left New Democratic Party was all but wiped out federally. With only 7 seats, down from 27 in the last Parliament, they’ve lost Party Status in Parliament. What was surprising is that the majority of NDP seats switched to the Conservatives not the Liberals.

This follows the trend in Ontario where the union vote which was always the constituency of the NDP, has switched to the Conservatives.

The INTENDED consequence was to split off Alberta and other Western Provinces from Eastern Canada. It's working.

How droll.

The Prairie Provinces always vote conservative - different from the rest of Canada. Especially Alberta, where all the oil is.

This election was no different.
