Hostility toward the press IS textbook fascism:

Godwin's Law Review: Fascism and the Press

There isn't any denying that.

But it was ok when Barry did it.

Examples?

So glad you asked!

"The part of the First Amendment that prohibits “abridging the freedom ... of the press” is now up against the wall, as the Obama administration continues to assault the kind of journalism that can expose government secrets."

Hypocrisy thy name is your leftist turd self.

While anything like the suppression of serious journalism is very unfortunate, this isn't the same as inciting violence against the press. That is pure evil.

One video refutes Sarah Sanders’s claim that Trump has never encouraged violence

But by all means feel free to cite examples of Obama calling the press "enemies of the people." I'd be very interested to see that.
Why would he need to, he was their boss

How many more examples of Trumps authoritarianism do you need to see before some of you figure it out?

Trump Allies Target Journalists Over Coverage Deemed Hostile to White House
Kenneth P. Vogel and Jeremy W. Peters

Arthur Schwartz, right, a conservative consultant who is a friend and informal adviser to the president’s eldest son, and Richard Grenell, the American ambassador to Germany.

A loose network of conservative operatives allied with the White House is pursuing what they say will be an aggressive operation to discredit news organizations deemed hostile to President Trump by publicizing damaging information about journalists.

It is the latest step in a long-running effort by Mr. Trump and his allies to undercut the influence of legitimate news reporting. Four people familiar with the operation described how it works, asserting that it has compiled dossiers of potentially embarrassing social media posts and other public statements by hundreds of people who work at some of the country’s most prominent news organizations.

The group has already released information about journalists at CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times — three outlets that have aggressively investigated Mr. Trump — in response to reporting or commentary that the White House’s allies consider unfair to Mr. Trump and his team or harmful to his re-election prospects.

Comrade racist shit fer brains;

How many journalists has Trump put in jail? (that would be zero, for the really stupid)

How many did Obamugabe put in jail?

Trump is a fascist. Everybody knows this.

Nobody even knows what fascism means.

The 14 points of Fascism
  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

  6. Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security

Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
In short, TRUMPISM

Tell me Comrade; If we take a system where the state has absolute control of the means of production using central planning to determine what products are produced and what price they are sold for, where an authoritarian state rules under dictatorship of either a single man or a group of rulers, where the rights of individuals are subverted to the privilege of groups, where individualism in general is oppressed in favor of the collective, where any competing political or economic ideas are suppressed by the state, where the press is controlled by the state or the party and operates to further the agenda of the rulers, where speech against the state or collectivism in general is a criminal offense; how does this substantially differ from the Marxism you promote?

There was no cause to consider Obama engaged in treason, nor in any felony - in office or out. Trump on the other hand may have engaged in high crimes in office and felonies when in business.

Yeah, him spying on the opposition campaign and rigging the 2016 election was all good fun, not treason at all,.... I mean, it was Hillarys turn, he couldn't just stand by and let Trump win, he HAD to engage in treason, it was his duty...

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
Where to begin? The press, the CIA, FBI, NSA, Mexicans, Haitians, Muslims, the Clintons, Democrats, the FED, ETC ETC. ad nausea

The behavior of the Press, deserves the harshest criticism. They have utterly betrayed their purpose and their pretense of objectivity is an insult to the intelligence of us all.

That you cite that as a sign of anything negative is a sign of how deeply flawed your thinking is, either insanely dishonest, or insanely stupid.

Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

See the raise in spending for the military industrial complex, and yet his attack on Sen McCain and failure to properly fund the VA.

US military spending is down to barely above 3% of gdp. That is not disproportionate.

It is quite reasonable, even low, considering our disproportionate global status as the Leader of the Free World.

The vast majority of government spending is on social programs. Your claim that we are neglecting the domestic agenda is nonsense.

Indeed, all of these points of yours are nonsense.

Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Self evident. Attacks on the #metoo women, few female appointments to his administration, ending by EO the service of transsexuals, and let's not forget his vulgar misogynistic lockery room talk on national TV.

1. The metoo movement is a witch hunt that violates due process.

2. The National TV talk was a leaked tape from literally behind closed doors. Using it's publicity as though Trump purposefully did that in public, is insanely dishonest or insanely stupid.

Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Fake news in almost every speech and tweet, attacks on Journalists who ask hard questions, even Fox News when they don't kiss his ass, and press secretaries who lie consistently.

The government, under Trump has an extremely hostile relationship with the media.

To cite that as "Evidence" of the Press being controlled by the government, is insane, as in completely out of touch with the reality of the words you are using.

YOu are beyond delusional to the point of speaking gibberish.

Wry will rate this as funny.

What he won't do is explain how blaming Trump for the publicity that a leaked tape got, does not make Wry Catcher a completely partisan hack.

When Congress bestowed much power onto the executive branch, no one ever dreamed there would by a paranoid, narcissistic, incompetent, inexperienced President like Trump. When the Democrats nominated the worst possible candidate, many voters were confused and couldn't decide between two substandard candidates. As a consequence, millions of voters stayed home and millions more threw their vote away on a candidate who had no chance of winning. They voted their conscience and we got Trump.

As a result, Trump was elected by disillusioned blue collar workers and their spouses, people who lacked an education, anarchists attracted to Trump's "drain the swamp" mantra, white supremacists, and various other malcontents who blamed the government for all their problems.

When Trump said this:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

–Real estate mogul Donald Trump, presidential announcement speech, June 16, 2015

He attracted all the wrong people. Because he is a bigot, despite all his costly mistakes, despite making a fool of himself nearly every day, despite over 10,000 lies told to the American people, his loyal followers stay with him. Even though he has cost them dearly if one has a retirement investment account or if one is a farmer or one is a consumer paying higher prices because of his tariffs, over 80% of Republicans stay loyal to him.

Incredible.

I know you love Donald, and I'm so sorry to point out he is a fascist, but at least I've not yet provided evidence that he is much worse, a terrible human being.

Disillusioned blue collar workers? You mean the same ones Democrats have been lying to for years?
