There were 100 nationalities living in the USSR. What language do you think they should have spoken among themselves at work or in the army?
There were also schools in Ukraine where teaching was conducted in Ukrainian. There were two or three of them in the city where I lived.

I don't want Finland, the Baltic states, or western Ukraine. I just want them to not be part of an alliance hostile to Russia. I want them to be neutral.
Incidentally, that is all Putin has asked of Ukraine for eight years. He did not even ask for Donbas.
But when fascists come to power, they become arrogant, especially when they receive support from other countries.
Just like Germany in the 1930s.
And when the Bandera followers included the desire to join NATO in their constitution and started talking about nuclear weapons, only then were decisive measures needed to stop this disgrace.
Unfortunately, they were not decisive from the outset, and on the seventh day, negotiations began, which were interrupted at the initiative of the West.
