Trump & Elons money grab

Well, I knew it was going to happen. Trump is going to back Elons play toy by funding wasted missions to mars. A planet that is not livable without trillions spent on everything it needs, just to house a few people. A planet with no actual water source. No way to grow anything without some massive environmental structure. And even that's very limited. No atmosphere. No breathable air. HUGE radiation problems.

It's a barren wasteland that's going to cost us trillions.

Plenty of evidence suggests Mars has water.

Even if there was hundreds of trillions of barrels of oil under the surface, that doesn't mean the planet is habitable without trillions of our tax dollars being spent to on travels to and from, and all the structures it'll take to house just a few people.

The temperature on Mars ranges from -225°F (-153°C) to 70°F (20°C). The average temperature is around -81°F (-60°C)
The radiation levels on Mars are much higher than on Earth, and could be dangerous for astronauts. The average radiation level on Mars is 240–300 milliSieverts per year (mSv/y), which is 40–50 times higher than Earth's average.

Hey stupid, colonizing Mars may ultimately save mankind. But it'll be at least 10-15 years before we can try. If life gets wiped out here (like the dinosaurs), there will be life elsewhere to survive. Also, Mars has water. BTW, nowhere but here on Earth is "livable." That isn't the point. The point is that we are figuring out how to live elsewhere. We have been working on that since the 1960s. Wake up. One of these days, a big rock is going to hit us (again).

I don't think the plan is to build apartments just yet. It's called EXPLORATION.

You have absolutely no idea of how these problems would be solved or what might come from the effort.

We have nobody on this planet who could ever figure out those problems. Just stating an irrefutable fact.

We didn't have anyone that could figure out how to put a man on the moon and bring him back either.

And that has what to do with the wasted money they're going to spend on an uninhabitable planet?

They can't save a planet that's already habitable?

^^^That's a good point, and you know it.
