Trump doesn't know what (or who) Habeas Corus is!!!

So, because the Dems allowed the country to be run by an Alzheimer/Dementia victim, and almost ran him for office again, does that justify the Republicans, (who used to be the conservative, level headed party, (back the day) to allow, stupidly follow and even encourage this crooked, demented whore monger to remain in office, just to be close to the power that is ending the country we all live in, hoping they come out on top after he's gone?

Justify it, no.

However, it makes it harder for them to be the ones to make the case for removing him.

The thing is, Trump isn't really the problem here, Republican Cowardice is. As long as Trump can run them out of office like he did with Liz Cheney, they are going to cower and quake in fear no matter what crazy he engages in.

I also blame the media, which edits his ramblings in the Oval Office to make him look a lot less crazy than he is.

Independents have no representation. I figure, we're just fucked. It was nice while it lasted.

Exactly. Which is why Trump’s doing what he’s doing.

That is not to say I’m in favor of it. I’m not. I don’t want to see political retribution by Trump. But I didn’t want to see it by Democrats either. Yet here we are.

That you ignore that the two impeachments against Trump were frivolous and based on false accusations is what’s laughable.

If this means nothing to you in the larger context of the wisdom of political retribution then all you’re doing is bleating your hatred of Trump.

Entirely irrelevant to the point of political retribution and in fact, to the point of the thread.

And the reason it happens is because there's a two party system where both sides are trying to make the other side look worse.

Rather than trying to make themselves look good.

PR would change that.

And I'm not ignoring anything. I think the impeachments were pointless, they were never going to get the 67 votes needed to actually impeach him.

Chances are, what Trump was impeached for, is probably true. But truth isn't important in an impeachment trial. It's literally a popularity vote among Congressmen and women.

Wrong. Neither were true and that’s the whole point of my argument.

Maybe, maybe not.

They weren’t true at all, especially the Russian Collusion hoax.
Which is why, I guess, the Republicans voted to not allow subpoenas for witnesses and documents, because.... well, they already knew Trump was "innocent", right?

Yep. If you're not on one of the ends, you have no voice right now.

Independents and moderates are the kids in the cafeteria just trying to eat their damn lunch during a food fight.

It hasn't always been this way.

"Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?
TRUMP: Suspending who?
Q: Habeas corpus
TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi."

"Oh, I don’t know. I’d rather leave that to Kristi. What do you think?” Trump said, punting the question to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem."

"“No, sir, I haven’t been a part of any discussions on that,” Noem replied."

A President should know what Habeas Corpus is. It's literally a huge power he could wield, but should in most cases.

Trump hasn't got a clue. Is he fit to be President? Never was.
I don't think anyone knows what "corus" is.

Yes. Very. When did the Rules of Engagement for the Navy, dealing with civilian small craft in international waters, change to missiles lose, free to engage, when civillian small craft not engaging Nave vessels with fire, or even approaching them? Amazing no remains recovered, no drugs, no weapons, no names of who our navy just murdered on the high seas, without even stopping them to see what they were carrying, as we usually do in drug interdiction?
You would think they were ordered into illegal action by some crazed dementia patient, unfamiliar with Maritime Law, known and agreed to by Congress and all previous Presidents.

Personally I think it's an upgrade to have a President that consistently knows what day it is and what planet he's on, versus the last vegetable that only had a 50-50 shot of getting either one of those answers correct at any given time.
Your standards are not very high.

Much higher than those who elected Biden and voted for Harris. WTF were they thinking? Maybe they wanted Trump again.

Do people have much of a choice? Either you vote Rep or Dem, doesn't really matter who the president is, unless they're unhinged, like Trump is. You could put a dead squirrel in the White House and the presidency would probably run better than Trump's mess.
