Trump doesn't know what (or who) Habeas Corus is!!!

Trump isn't 85% of the population. He's the president. He should know what this is.

I often say, that instead of a debate, we should have Presidential Candidates play "Jeopardy!"

Of course, in Trump's case, he'd have a negative number and start screaming that Ken Jennings isn't as good as Alec Trebek.
A president should know how many states we have too.... Basic fourth grade geography.
And yet.....

I always gave Obama high points for his public demeanor and mostly intelligent conversation behind the mic. It's too bad we can't order up a perfect president.... But that's not how the country votes.

He brokered a peace deal in the Middle East and stopped the illegal invasion of foreigners across our border.

That’s pretty presidential.
Not true.

Illegal immigration went down umder Biden and as far as wars go, there has been ongoing wars in Yemen and Gaza and Trump also bent over for Iran by withrawing the nuclear deal not to mention his simping for Putin ensuring war in Europe has not ended.

Wow. You lie non-stop.

The reduction in illegal immigration under Biden was a ruse. It was no different than a clothing store doubling the price of a suit and then having a half-price sale the week after that. Come on are you really serious about this shit?

Trump is done more damage to the Russian economy than Obama and Biden combined.

Those are simply the facts.

Crockett's an actress.... She's not even close to being a tranny or a lesbo.... Her real diction when she's not putting on a ghetto slang is clear and intelligent and obviously educated. Why does she feel she needs to speak street language in order to get her message across?
Attacking someone's gender, race and speaking style instead of ideas says more about your character than theirs. There's no need to redice those you disagree with to slurs.

Too bad mods here do not value serious conversation.

What did I attack? Point it out to me.

And so on and so forth....
Most of these were developed during the Roman empire in the court systems there.
Why are we still using them 2,000 years later?
No idea.

Who knows? But we are.
But for a president, some are a lot more important to know about that others.

He can suspend habeas corpus, he should know it's an option, he should know why it's mostly not an option, and should know when he can do this.

If he has to react to a situation quickly, this is something he should know about

Chorus, not Corus....

LEARN TO SPELL!!!

I don't totally disagree with you I just think it's a pretty silly issue to make a big deal out of.
Actually when you compare the first 20 presidents to the ones that followed it's a pretty sad degradation in intellectual quality over all.
Most of them were accomplished intellectuals.
With the possible exception of Andrew Jackson who basically shot down anyone he didn't like.

I have always said that the bar is much too low for that office and that anyone entering it should have degrees in economics, human services, and political science.

Too bad we can't special order a perfect president. Sure would be nice.

I'd say people should know what sort of person their president is. Don't you?

Well I think you stumbled on something there in both ways. Trump was extremely well known as to his character, his lifestyle and his general personality. Probably more so than any president that's ever been in office.

Trump voters did not go to the polls with their eyes closed or uninformed. They made a choice anyway.

That's what voting is all about.

I haven't heard of anyone being surprised by anything that Trump did either his supporters or his opposers.

I'm quite sure that he knows what he can do I'm also just as certain that he's not going to learn Latin at 78 years old.

"Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?
TRUMP: Suspending who?
Q: Habeas corpus
TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi."

"Oh, I don’t know. I’d rather leave that to Kristi. What do you think?” Trump said, punting the question to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem."

"“No, sir, I haven’t been a part of any discussions on that,” Noem replied."

A President should know what Habeas Corpus is. It's literally a huge power he could wield, but should in most cases.

Trump hasn't got a clue. Is he fit to be President? Never was.
/—-/ That doesn’t prove anything, you twerp. You’re grasping at straws.

I'm pretty sure most Trump voters knew exactly who he was. He was one of the most popular faces on television for a few years before he came down the escalator. Not really well liked in particular. Hell for 20 years before that he dominated the tabloids. This was not an unknown quantity, not by a long shot.
