The point I was making was that Trump had two options.

1) Do what the further right wants, gain their support by going after immigrants, regardless of how it impacts the US.
2) Figure out the best way of doing things, get people in legally, give employees a reason to hire legal workers, stop people coming in illegally, over a sensible period of time so it doesn't cause maximum strife and problems for people.

Obviously be went for number one just for the politics of it all. He doesn't care if other people have to suffer for this.
