I disagree. It's a brilliant idea that will benefit American youth and their families. I agree it should address "birthright citizenship". The fact that the CURRENT policy lacks restrictions on birthright citizenship does not make it a dumb idea.

I'm also not on board with turning our retirement system into the Australian system as of now anyway. I need some convincing that this isn't just some kind of liberal/prorgressive idea.

Birthright citizenship is being challenged by Trump separately. The policy needs tweaking, won't be implemented until next year there's time to fix it. I personally think the $150K income limit for eligibility is too high. It should be lowered maybe to $100K.

I disagree. If you have a $100K income, you can afford to put $1K in an interest-bearing acct. in the child's name at birth. Why should taxpayers be forced to provide you with what amounts to a birthday gift?
