trump deports 4 year old with stage four cancer.

You can apply but it's a waste of time. There is no waiting list The only way to enter the US legally is to have a family member in the US sponsor you or have a special skill and have a US company willing to sponsor you and pay a fee to the government each year for an H1 visa. Generally only scientist, engineers, or people at the top of their profession get selected.

In a documentary on Hatti I saw years ago, this Hattian said, "I want to come to the United States and I'm willing to wait in line as long as it takes but there is no line."

It's true, we have no obligation to let anyone move here.

If the Democrats want more Haitians in the country, why did they not pass a law about that when they had both houses and the White House?

They could throw a thousand dollar per plate (of cat or dog) dinner to raise funds to bring them over and move them in next to their houses.

Seriously, why do they keep whining about needing immigration reform when they had the power to do so, and refused?

Not likely. However, for many of these people our prisons are better than where they live.
And who is responsible to bring change to their country? Why would we drain such countries of military-aged males who could affect a revolution, or just work to make the economy better?

It's what the U.S. did, more than once. You think when the English first settled here, there was a thriving nation already with a booming job market and governent assistance?

You think when the Asians who crossed the Bering Strait set foot on the continent, there were put up in hotels and given cash?

No.

It was wilderness.

They rolled their sleeves up and got to work. Everyone except enslaved people came to this country and worked their way to a better life, often having to fight to keep it.

Let Hatians and any other countries' people do the same.

No access to medications or doctors, almost certainly a death sentence.

this is what the US has come to.

trump supporters will cheer.
Of course we'll cheer getting rid of the brown vermin.

That's true and it is equally true that they are going to keep coming long after Trump is gone.

The long term solution is to help these countries resolve some of their problems behind the migrations and to offer some hope of coming to the US legally. That might mean a long waiting list with restrictions but people will wait years to come to US legally as long as there is hope.

The alternative is to continue spending hundreds of billions of dollars each year managing the consequences of illegal immigration. However, this approach is unlikely to be sustainable. Once Democrats regain control of Congress or the presidency, the legal and constitutional overreaches that currently enable mass deportations under the guise of a national emergency are likely to be challenged and brought to an end.

Or to make it clear they aren't welcome here. At all.

The Biden administration, with Democratic support, enacted policies and granted temporary protected status (TPS) to Haitians to address the ongoing crisis and violence in Haiti. This included designating an additional 309,000 Haitians living in the U.S. for TPS. The decision was also part of a broader strategy to encourage legal immigration and address the situation in Haiti, including a program allowing eligible Haitians to apply for legal status and work permits.

Today under Trump, there are only three paths for a Hattian to legally enter the US.
  • H1 Vias secured by an employer which is out of reach for almost all Hattians.
  • Applying for asylum, which Trump has suspended
  • A sponsor who is a Hattian US citizen which Trump has suspended

I guess they need to stay in Haiti.
Maybe clean the place up a bit before the ones in the US return?

I think Trump is doing pretty good job of that. However the problem is that Trump is not seeking any legislation that would carry on his policies after he leaves office. I would guess he is not doing this because not event a republican congress is going to make an Emergency at the boarder permanent and make violations of the constitution and immigration laws legal.

Booting illegal aliens doesn't violate the constitution.

Then I stand corrected in my implication that the Democrats did not act to bring more Haitians into the country.

But we saw what the voters thought about the idea of continuing to bring them.

Send the child home to die. That is not in "good spirit" and it certainly does not represent the America I support. They came to the USA legally, albeit on "parole". No evidence the "parole was violated".
CHLA heavily relies on donations from individuals, families, and foundations to support its mission of providing specialized pediatric care. The USA is so much better than this. why? Any decent human does not impose a death sentence on a 4-year-old child.

Sofia began receiving life-saving medical treatment for this condition at Children's Hospital Los Angeles when she and her parents crossed the border from Mexico in 2023 on humanitarian parole, Sofia's lawyers said.

Sofia's medical care, which consists of her receiving specialized IV treatments for up to 14 hours a day, can only be administered in the United States, per the equipment manufacturer, her lawyers said.

The family's lawyers said Sofia's mother, Deysi Vargas, has received three letters from DHS saying her humanitarian parole is being terminated.

"It is time for you to leave the United States," one of the letters, dated April 11, stated. The letter went on to say, "If you do not depart the United States immediately you will be subject to potential law enforcement actions that will result in your removal from the United States -- unless you have otherwise obtained a lawful basis to remain here."

According to their lawyers...LOL

Of course her lawyer would say this... but its not accurate... the treatment can be administered anywhere... maybe not for free... but when did we start treating the ill from around the world for free?...
We have kids right here... US citizens who can't afford treatment that would save their lives...
However if this is true I'm sure some district judge will block her deportation....

What?!?!?!?!

You Democrats forget your own narrative sometimes. The United States has the worst medical care in the world. Bottom of every list, remember?

What is this mysterious piece of equipment that only functions in the United States? Does that mean the Continental United States, or will it work in Alaska and Hawaii? What about Puerto Rico or Guam?

You posted it, you explain it.

Anyway . . . if it were somehow true that taking this child out of the U.S. is a death sentence, it is the child's own mother who made that decision. Dad was willing and able to take custody in the U.S. of A., which suddenly has not only adequate medical care, but the only medical care for this case.
