At least one judge appointed by Donald Trump has ruled against him on the issue of tariffs. In a recent decision by the U.S. Court of International Trade, a three-judge panel struck down Trump's unilateral tariffs, stating they exceeded the authority granted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

The panel included:

• Judge Timothy Reif, appointed by Donald Trump
• Judge Gary Katzmann, appointed by Barack Obama
• Judge Jane Restani, appointed by Ronald Reagan

This ruling is significant because it shows that even judges appointed by Trump are willing to rule against him when they interpret the law as being violated. The court found that the tariffs were not justified under the emergency powers law and were therefore "ultra vires" (beyond legal authority).

The People make the law. The Courts and the President are EXPLICITLY FORBIDDEN from making law in this country.

The People amend the Constitution, which tells the courts how they MUST rule. The law tells the President what he MUST enforce. Neither of them have a choice in the matter.

Courts that try to make law are VIOLATING the Constitution and should be ignored and disciplined.

The supreme court determines if laws are constitutional, and the SC interprets the laws written by Congress, and via executive order, when in a lawsuit with parties involved having opposing interpretations, if it is appealed up to them, and the SC decides to take the case...

Which means first and foremost, they have to know what the law is.

Unlike the brainless moron who "ordered" a 21 day waiting period for deportations, when the existing law explicitly says 10.

JUDGES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PULL LAWS OUT OF THEIR BUTTS. THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE THE LAW.

The judge can interpret the law to allow for that. If anyone disagrees with that ruling, they can go to the Supreme Court to overrule them. That's how it works. You, me, or the president can't change the ruling. The SC is the only one that has authority to change that ruling.
The SC can rule that the law in question is interpreted a certain way, and the law becomes what they say it is. Congress can rewrite that law or write another one, but the SC still has the authority to interpret that one too.

Our manufacturers struggle to sell their goods in China and everywhere else... either we face tariffs or vat taxes and restrictions on the amount of products... some countries outright ban certain products we sell...
