THE big questions of the day.
1) WTF was a military training exercise doing where it took them into the direct paths of commercial flights. This would be level one grade school safety rules.
2) Clearly there is an error factor by air traffic control. JOB ONE of ANY air traffic control is elevation control.
A Helicopter is a 360 degree flying machine, so air traffic control may not be able to react in time to a black hawk pilot making quick elevation changes - which is why it would be OBVIOUSLY imperative to communicate elevation parameters which were obviously not communicated.
3) Apparently a part of the training exercise was to be using night vision flying. Totally necessary training. But engaging in that in direct paths of commercial flights???? Yeah... hell no.

If DEI played a role here - it will be a HUGE win for the death of DEI.
But no one knows that yet. And Trump pre-emptively saying that could be a very big mistake.

Certainly. That doesn't even need an investigation to determine.
In a helicopter, a 360 degree flying machine - if you are flying in an area where airplanes are, priority #1 is elevation parameters of where you are. Nothing else comes before that. Nothing.
So this tells me, incorrect elevation parameters were given.
In the flight path of the helicopter, you can clearly see that the black hawk made a turn that was in a direct path used regularly by commercial airlines. 100s of times a day. No way, now how should that helicopter be there. So either air traffic gave wrong coordinates, or the pilot misheard them and fucked up,

No matter - WTF was a training exercise being done in the exact same area as commercial airport traffic?
