Trump considering taking $3 billion in Harvard grants, giving them to trade schools

Wow. Apparently, in MAGAmerica, science and engineering are bad.
Are you really so uninformed that you think science and engineering is the issue? You are woefully unprepared to debate this topic. :cuckoo:

and I'm sure glad you guys are not in charge anymore.

Preventing anti-Semetic violence is "anti learning" only if using a bizarre definition of "learning."

I was never in charge of Harvard. What an idiotic thing to say!

And you base that on…..nothing.

You’ve made several baseless generalizations like this throughout this thread.

These are the exact same generalizations that I have been hearing from people who denigrate education for fifty years.

And, you just dismissed the value of higher education in general.

I base it on facts. Had these kids invested in a trade job, they would be working towards a comfortable life.

Most Gen Z Graduates Now Think College Was Waste of Money

The sharp rise in Gen Z graduates who believe their college education was a waste of money signals a growing disillusionment with the traditional higher education model. As tuition costs continue to soar and student debt reaches historic highs, many young adults are questioning whether a degree offers the financial and professional security it once promised. This shift in perception could have long-term consequences for universities, the labor market, and broader economic mobility, especially as alternative pathways like trade schools, online certifications, and direct-to-career programs gain popularity.

So, where is basic research going to come from, if the Feds don’t finance it? So much of our prosperity is the result of industry applying research we all paid for and would never have happened in a corporation worried about quarterly reports.

Teachers essentially teach politics instead of history. They don't convey the factual nature of our history; instead, they teach a biased, politically slanted version of it. When it comes to science, the transgender plague runs rampant. They try to impose scientifically inaccurate gender ideals. A number of them are politically driven, imposing their worldviews and ideologies on impressionable children and teenagers.

These teachers know what their job entails, yet they go willingly. They don't actively resist, they throw themselves at it. I see them willingly corrupting themselves instead of standing up to the system.
How do you know any of this? Did Google tell you to imagine all this?

I don't, and none of the history teachers I know do. There's no time for that garbage even if one were so inclined.

Even less time for that kind of nonsense. The only place anything related to that topic might be mentioned in passing would be in Health class.

That teachers know what they are teaching these days. ...
Yeah, History teachers teach history, Science teachers teach science, English teachers teach English, Spanish teachers teach spanish, Latin teachers teach latin, Math teachers teach math, etc. None of them have room in their curricula for politicizing.

You distort and lie. A person who plagarized acsdemic papers is not qualified to be president of Harvard. They overlooked that because being a female black was more important than academic honesty and proficiency.

And?

Outside of the addled minds of the anti learning set, how is Harvard “once great”?

Trump attacks Harvard because it plays well with his ¥z ignorant and proud of it” base.

That’s all. He’s trying to intimidate them, and entertain you.
Harvard is allowing, and even participating, in antisemitism on campus.

Since when is trying to ramp down on the antisemitism being spread by leftists being “anti-learning”?

You see a black woman and automatically assume she’s unqualified.
A plagarizer is not qualified to be president of Harvard. YOU see a black woman and ignore lack of academic integrity and honesty - and are happy for another DEI PLACEMENT regardless of her lack of qualifications.

She’s very qualified. The “plagiarism” was a tempest in a teapot, the product of a character assassination for low information people like you who never bothered to look at what was being “plagiarized”.

^^^ and he proves my point

A plagarizer who refuses to condemn calls by Harvard students is “qualified” to be president and earn $900,000.

Female black privilege.

Because the “plagiarism” was inconsequential and trivial. It doesn’t diminish anything in her work.

You don’t care about the plagiarism, we both know that. You’re just looking for an excuse. You want her to face more severe consequences than anyone else?

Doesn't it say a lot about dembots that they think that cheating makes someone qualified?

This speaks volumes, you think cheating is inconsequential....

In comparison to the number of design decisions that engineers make you are correct, but I think there are more engineering mistakes that are caught by the millwrights, electricians and mechanics than most people are aware.

Not at the sites I work at, and I do Resident Engineering at wastewater plants.

You may be more familiar with residential/commercial work which is mostly done by architects in design, and then just brings the engineers in for structural calcs, HVAC and plumbing
