I seek 'experience' rather than a 'diploma' when I do my hiring.

It would be great if the reflex wasn't to automatically look for somewhere else to spend my money. Just don't spend it. If you think it's a good idea to take money from taxpayers and give it to trade schools, then make legislation and vote on it.

I support tradeschools (and professional internship programs) and community college 2-yr professional degrees VERY STRONGLY. In fact, I think that (not unlike some other countries) they should be free within a two-yr span to get it done.

A college education isn’t for everyone and we’ve made a mistake in trying to push everyone onto that track. High schools should be able to provide an opportunity for students to explore both tracks without being pressured or shunted on one or the other.

Where we DIFFER is that I see value in BOTH and I do not view it as a zero-sum equation.
