Consider this one example of military leaders who Trump has labeled as a "Bunch of Dopes"!

A laminated card ROE with the following text was distributed to all U.S. Army and Marine personnel in Iraq.
Policies about limiting civilian casualties have soldiers complaining they can't effectively fight; one showed author Michael Hastings a card with regulations including:
"Patrol only in areas that you are reasonably certain that you will not have to defend yourselves with lethal force."
For a soldier who has traveled halfway around the world to fight, that’s like telling a cop he should only patrol in areas where he knows he won’t have to make arrests.

It is the PC world and ways of fighting a War that has stuck us there this long.

This entire War could have been over in less than 6 months.

But to do so........WOULD BE BRUTAL.........no nukes but pound their sorry asses into the ground......and say this is what happens when you Fuck with the United States.

Would have been cheaper.........lasted a short time.......and the middle east would be worried about what we would do to them next if they didn't knock it off.

Having spent eight years in DoD (3 military), and spent a lot of time reviewing and processing Officer Efficiency Reports, I can say that simply rising to the level of a General in the Army (and I presume it's the same in the other services) is no sure indication of anything good.

Many, if not most, of the most successful officers (based on minimum time in grade) are nothing more than professional bureaucrats and ass-kissers, with few true leadership traits and no great intelligence. In my experience, West Point grads are generally pretty good, and those from the quasi-service academies (e.g., VMI, The Citadel) are also good, but the ROTC types (the vast majority of officers) were rarely impressive.

As Trump has noted, if I'm looking for the truth about a situation in the Field, I'd rather get my Information from senior NCO's than the commanding general.

Trump is right again, our generals are a joke and our military is sunk. Obumma fired all of the good ones. He was concerned they might be too loyal and patriotic to the flag and Constitution to accept using the military for social engineering. Now our Joint Chief of Staff is a treasonous chinese sympathizer who goes behind the CIC's back. Dude should be shot at sunrise for that.
