I tend to agree with Rand Paul in principle. I'm not American and I don't know how your system works to that degree. Let's stop pretending that this hasn't been occurring since at least JFK. though, even if via proxy and other agency arms (CIA for instance).

The reality is that I am a firm believer in citizens human rights so I cannot shed a tear for tyrants who imprison or even stone to death women simply for showing their faces. We shouldn't as a species protect such abusers. Nor those in China, Russia, Canada or elsewhere.

One question that must be raised is that if Iran decides to continue their efforts and regime change occurs, who will replace their government? Are they going to place a monarchy back in power?

Iran is a divided nation and I don't think a monarchy would be appealing to them, though it couldn't be worse than what they are experiencing today I suppose.

It's an old argument. We have not declared war since 1941...and yet we call it the The Korean war, Vietnam war..the Iraq war etc.
The President has 90 days..while other Presidents have had the courtesy to consult/inform Congress---They don't really have a say until the 91st day--even then...they have to be able to override a veto if they decide to shut the President down.

You need a map. Persian Gulf, specifically the Straits of Hormuz. The oil production being taken out would take one strike by the air wing and Tomahawks from the ships and subs. It would only take hours, not days.
