I can't say I don't appreciate the direct language, but it's not the type of words that need to be said publicly.

He could have said the same by simply stating "she better be careful, because my client is being persecuted and his civil and constitutional rights are being violated. The maximum sentence for someone violating said laws is ________, and we would pursue that if a civil case against her and the state is necessary".

The same message, maybe even more clear and threatening without sounding like a thug which makes her seem reasonable and civilized.

I've had to deal with bullies all my life. I'm not a lawyer though and I never had to deal with a public figure.

He needs some tact. Yes, the letter is more effective. What will her response be? She will cry to some friendly media and then Trumps team can respond in public. "Yes, she targeted our client and abused her position and we are going to prove it in court. In fact, she promised this attack even before she was AG, without privy to ANY facts or evidence".
