No I'm not lying. As far as I'm concerned the stories I've heard from vets who served in the navy in that theater at that time are more credible than the US Government's "historians". Especially when I know one of them quite well on a personal level.

Trump's shitty character is a good reason not to trust that he won't sell out on the 2nd Amendment, so far he hasn't done so IMO, and I never cared about the bump stocks, but I don't trust he won't do so to make some "deal" with the socialists.

Like I said, Benedict Arnold was a "hero", until he wasn't. Mccain was a "hero", selling out to globalists is why he isn't.

That's just my opinion, I did my tour and my job. So when my elected government officials act in ways that undermine the Constitution I maintain my vow to defend, I can have whatever opinion I like about them.

But the real story is that McCain is the one who dragged this scuffle past the grave when he banned President Trump from his funeral, and then had his family complain about Trump playing golf during the event instead of showing up.

Ordinarily, people try to resolve their quarrels as they pass on, but McCain was a bitter, petty little man.

McCain was a mediocre Naval Officer, and mediocre Naval Aviator, remember his Dad was an Admiral and that goes a long way in the service, especially back then. The Navy, like the other branches of the service take care of their own.

He became a hero through chance, but also perseverance as a POW. I respect him for that, but can separate his military service from his political life which he acted like a spoiled child, attention getter, and used his party as backboard often sabotaging their efforts. In that way he was a traitor, and I lost respect for him as a politician, not as a veteran.

John McCain was like John Kennedy. John Kennedy was the leader on the fastest ship in the navy during WWII, yet he allowed it to be rammed by another ship. John McCain who flew one of the fastest planes in the air force, allowed it to be shot down. Flagrant assholes. Both..

I guess you voted for Obama then, since you think so lowly of McCain.

How sick is it that we can no longer say our POW/MIA/KIA are American heroes for what they went through...

It's sad to hear this, and then people say the right is more pro military and pro veteran than the left when their willing to just drag a POW through the mud over his service and sacrifice.

And while you may think those who fought, who got his first purple heart being hit by shrapnel while trying to save a fellow pilot from a fire, who was awarded a bronze star for his missions over enemy territory, who earned his 2nd purple heart breaking his arms and legs when shot down, who was captured and tortured beaten and bayonetted for 5 and a half years, and when he got out had been permanently disabled, yet fought to regain his flight status and continue serving is not enough to be an American hero.

What I didn't understand about McCain is his whole life's story. He spend 25 years kissing Liberal Behind in the Senate. He finally got the Presidential nomination, and he was counting on getting his friends across the aisle to vote for him.

HOW DO YOU KNOW what every POW went through? I said nothing of the missing or the dead. They were doing the job they signed up for. They knew the risk. Not every POW is treated like that! They were captured. It wasn't their choice. It wasn't an act of bravery. If they were a hero just for having something thrust upon them, what are you going to call the real heroes who go beyond the call of duty by choice, risk life and limb, die to save other lives? People like Audie Murphy. And if they are a hero, then what about cops? Firemen? Other people who suffer and die in the service of their country that weren't in the military?

They give medals for these things. It's always a sad and unfortunate thing. War is never good. But as soon as you succumb to political correctness and start calling EVERYONE a hero, then NO ONE becomes a hero. The word "hero" becomes about as meaningless as Obama made getting a Nobel Prize.
