Donald Trump walked back a claim that he saw a video of U.S. officials giving Iran a $400 million payment, a rare retraction from the normally stubborn businessman.

Friday’s statement contradicts claims he made earlier in the week that he had seen “secret” video of cash being unloaded off a plane in Iran. Presidential nominees from the two major parties are typically given access to classified information via intelligence briefings, though his campaign said those briefings hadn’t begun yet.

“Iran provided all of that footage, the tape of taking that money off the airplane,” he told a crowd in Florida. “It’s a military tape; it’s a tape that was a perfect angle, nice and steady, nobody getting nervous because they’re gonna be shot because they’re shooting a picture of money pouring off a plane.”

The Washington Post debunked Trump’s claim, explaining that what he likely saw was publicly available footage from January that showed Americans who had been imprisoned in Iran being released in Geneva. Trump’s communications director, Hope Hicks, confirmed the video he was talking about was the Geneva footage.

Despite reality, Trump repeated the erroneous claim Thursday evening. Finally, Friday morning, he admitted the video he saw was the one from Geneva.

Now, it would be nice for him to admit to all his other lies.

Get back to US when he lies about running under cover in Bosnia and/or when your side stops being hypocrites about illegak payments. You dragged Republicans through the sewer in the late 1980s for more indirect payments yet direct payments from your own does not seem to phase you? You care more about a fib from Trump. Typical.

You mean the truth.

This is the story. Not that the Iranians are publicly stating that they required the payment as a condition to release the American sailors they were holding. Not that one of those sailors stated that they would not be allowed to leave until they received that pallet of cash.

Not that the president admitted that he was prohibited to send Iran money through banks or traditional financial institutions by American laws. Not that the president used this money to circumvent those laws. The Treasury Department's own website clearly defines this as bulk cash smuggling.

Not that the president danced around the question of if these monies will be used to fund terrorism or pay the family of suicide bombers--No to the left and our complete inept media the fact that Trump saw a video of Fox News depicting the plane as the actual video, that is the story.

This is disingenuous and pathetic. Trump has been green lit by both sides. It is the debates that are going to make or break this election.
