“The Trump administration’s effort to overturn decades-old school desegregation orders is facing pushback from a federal judge in Louisiana.

After the judge refused to close the books on a desegregation case dating back to the 1960s, the Concordia Parish school system in central Louisiana and the state on Tuesday filed an appeal. The case offers the first major test of the government’s attempt to quickly end some of the long-running cases.

The school system has become a focal point in the administration’s attempt to end legal cases that reach back to the Civil Rights era. Louisiana state officials say the cases are outdated and no longer needed. In a remarkable turn, they’ve recently gained support from the U.S. Justice Department, which spent decades fighting for such cases.

The campaign encountered its first major obstacle this month when U.S. District Judge Dee Drell rejected a court filing from Louisiana and the Justice Department aiming to free Concordia from a 1965 lawsuit. That case was brought by Black families who demanded access to the town’s all-white schools. A number of legal requirements from the case remain in place today, and some families say the court orders are still needed to improve education at the area’s mostly Black schools.”

This line in the article sums up the Trump regime’s plan for Civil Rights

"The Justice Department has framed the decades-old cases as federal intrusion into local school decisions."

This of course is a lie. The DOJ is following its constitutional mandate ensuring minority students have access to the same quality of education as white students.

These cases remain necessary because Republicans continue to seek to disadvantage minority students.

Honest question, what don’t they resent?
Most of them are good people...Enough resent it to have made the social engineering experiment a massive failure.

Think of the crime stats...While 13% commit 50% of the violent crimes, that 13% is but a fraction of the overall population.

For one reason or another, the smart peaceful ones allow themselves to be cowed by the violent stupid thugs.

All that happens with desegregation is blacks ruining schools and whites moving away.
Fact
Or whites get bused in and blacks resent it.
Usually whites will move away or enroll in private schools, when economically feasible.
Here in PG County, we had white children of military personnel who were picked on by blacks at the public school adjacent to Andrews AFB. Those whites were eventually bused to a different school for their safety.

Or, all that happens is the white make sure the blacks live in impoverished areas, with higher crime, and more problems, and then the schools reflect this.

But we have to blame the blacks for not being able to get the good jobs, we have to blame the blacks for not being able to rise the social ladder.

Yeah, we make sure others live in poor areas, right? Sone go to school to learn others go to beat up people for no reason, but it’s all ******’s fault, right?

Blacks love nothing more then to be a bucket of crabs, to drag others down with them, especially other blacks.

This is going to sound "racist" but any parent should be reluctant to send their child to inner city school systems. Black, white, Asian or whatever. Their nothing but fund gulping money pits that can't produce results

PG County, MD schools are a suburban version of an inner city school system except with a median income 30% above the national average. This school failure thing transcends socioeconomics.
So the term inner-city becomes somewhat misnomered.

Public education in a nutshell is underachieving. But the reality is inner city schools are really bad. There's probably some outliers on every segment

The overarching point is that this is a black subculture problem. Socioeconomics and public schooling in general are not as much the problem.

You said the quiet part outloud. But I'm sorry public education is a hot mess. It's gotten away from the basic "3Rs" and into social engineering, indoctrination, etc etc. Parents don't trust it and it's why private school and homeschool numbers are skyrocketing

I don’t disagree with that. But good parenting can transcend bad schools if good parenting is the norm and not the minority.
Most teachers would concur that if you give them a good kid, they’ll give you a good kid back.
