Trump administration's effort to end 1960s school desegregation cases faces a hurdle

I don’t disagree with that. But good parenting can transcend bad schools if good parenting is the norm and not the minority.
Most teachers would concur that if you give them a good kid, they’ll give you a good kid back.

I can agree with that but my husband and I decided to go the safer route. It's important to us our children receive a good education. We don't want the distractions

“The Trump administration’s effort to overturn decades-old school desegregation orders is facing pushback from a federal judge in Louisiana.

After the judge refused to close the books on a desegregation case dating back to the 1960s, the Concordia Parish school system in central Louisiana and the state on Tuesday filed an appeal. The case offers the first major test of the government’s attempt to quickly end some of the long-running cases.

The school system has become a focal point in the administration’s attempt to end legal cases that reach back to the Civil Rights era. Louisiana state officials say the cases are outdated and no longer needed. In a remarkable turn, they’ve recently gained support from the U.S. Justice Department, which spent decades fighting for such cases.

The campaign encountered its first major obstacle this month when U.S. District Judge Dee Drell rejected a court filing from Louisiana and the Justice Department aiming to free Concordia from a 1965 lawsuit. That case was brought by Black families who demanded access to the town’s all-white schools. A number of legal requirements from the case remain in place today, and some families say the court orders are still needed to improve education at the area’s mostly Black schools.”

This line in the article sums up the Trump regime’s plan for Civil Rights

"The Justice Department has framed the decades-old cases as federal intrusion into local school decisions."

This of course is a lie. The DOJ is following its constitutional mandate ensuring minority students have access to the same quality of education as white students.

These cases remain necessary because Republicans continue to seek to disadvantage minority students.
<~~~~~~>
So let's get this straight. The DoJ seeks to end forced desegregation of schools that reaches back 60 years.
So the question remains; Are there any schools in the U.S. today that segregate their students Black from White?
The answer is No!
So why bring it up now?
IMHO, it's just another Democrat false political barb thrown at Trump.

Yeah, we make sure others live in poor areas, right? Sone go to school to learn others go to beat up people for no reason, but it’s all ******’s fault, right?

Blacks love nothing more then to be a bucket of crabs, to drag others down with them, especially other blacks.
The problem is, you want to look at this topic from a viewpoint that doesn't take into account all that has happened in the US.

Black people in the UK can be put into two categories. Those from the Caribbean and those from Africa.

Those from Africa heritage do as well as white British people, or better.

Those from the Caribbean heritage do really badly.

The average score in GCSEs (taken at the age of 16) is 46.3 out of 90.

Black people get 46.6 out of 90
Black Africans get 48.7 out of 90
Black Caribbeans get 40.0 out of 90.

White get 45.2 out of 90 with white British getting 44.9 out of 90.

What's the difference between Africa blacks and Caribbean blacks? History. Crime.

The Caribbean blacks were slaves, just like in the US.
African blacks weren't.

Crime in the Caribbean is high. In Africa it depends on the place. But the Yardies and other Jamaican gangs (because Jamaicans didn't need visas to go to the UK back in the 1980s and 1990s) infiltrated the UK and they're still an issue today.

Unless you try and stop these problems, then things will always be this unequal, it impacts kids who grow up in ghettos, who have a mentality that someone is out to get them, that life will be difficult.

The US has tried to do things, but never enough. Trump wants to get rid of these things altogether.

Yeah not buying it anymore.

Ever stop and consider the following, people are not equal in ability?

“Trump wants to get rid of these things altogether” God I wish that were true.

Yes, the problem is that if people weren't equal in ability based on racial lines, then you'd see black people being bad across the board. But they're not.

Ahhhhh, my dude, 4% due 55% of the violent crime.

Yes, white nationaliats always have their fingers right on the pulse of the minority communities.

🙄
Yea it’s not hard to listen to them. They are pretty much the same as anyone else, they’d rather be around their own.

But idiot white liberals like you think you know what’s best for everyone.

I know that, when i want to know what minorities think, I spring to first old racist white dude i can find!

You're a fossil. Your talking point is from 1970.

I’m more of a 90’s guy. I grew up in a white minority city and my friends were not white. I’m not a snowflake when it comes to racial jokes and recognizing cultural differences.

You sound like a spiritual boomer for sure: White Knight mentality, “diversity is our strength” bullshit, and overly sensitive about any negative comment about any minorities.

Break it down for me, show me the statistics, show me the facts, make the argument.

The more you break down the statistics, the closer you get to the truth, the less it's about race, and the more it's about poverty, about government inaction.

Mississippi has the most black people. 36.44%.

It's 8th for homicide

Louisiana is 2nd for black people, and first for homicide

Georgia is 3rd for black people and 12th for homicide

Montana is 50th for black people and 37th for homicide.

So, it's not just black people equate more homicide. Yes, there's a pattern.

But then we can look at single parent households.

The lower the income, the more likely you are to see single parent households.

Black people are more likely to be in poverty, more likely to have a single parent family.

Is it because they're black? No. Is it because black people have been pushed into poverty? Yes.

But all you're going to do is go tell your friends "I'm not a racist, but I did not research and I found out that black people are stupid" as if white people doing better in the US somehow makes you more intelligent. But you won't even be able to make a decent argument.

This post is very brief, I don't think you deserve me pumping hours into a post, but it's better than you'll ever do.

It’s sad that LA hasn’t moved passed the 1960s but what do yoh expect from a state that largely been run by Dems

The blacks wanted their schools too...They didn't like being bused around either...I was actually in the midst of it.
My school was overwhelmingly white before busing. The first things that happened after desegregation were the creation of a black student union and black studies curriculum.

I was bused to both a black school, then one that was predominantly white before the blacks were bused in.

Neither experience was worth a ****, educationally speaking.
