Trump Administration to Announce Trade Deal With Britain

Now Trumps tariffs will raise the cost of coloring pencils even more dramatically.
When they used to be able to buy their child 250 pencils, that will be down to only 5.
Why does a kid need 250 pencils?

So can Bernie, defender of Oligarch's.

Capitol One, don't leave home without it.
Maybe what Trump meant, that will all the tariffs, the price of other household goods would go up so much, that parents would have to cut down on dolls and pencils, in order to afford the necessities, like food and clothing.

That Trump promised to lower the cost of on day one.

I guess with all the extra money you'll be spending because of Trumps tariffs, that's a good attitude to take.

I think it suits both governments to call it a win. They are both struggling. But on what I have seen so far It seems to lack substance.
Talks about talks.
Im no even sure what ethanol is.
I agree. Ethanol is basically grain alcohol used for fuel.

Trump seems to have made a deal with the UK. He still is not lifting the tariffs. Now the Trump cult will declare this as the greatest idea ever, but the fact is that the UK has been having problems ever since they left the UK because inherent in that agreement with the UK was access to markets they no longer have since they left. So the UIK needed this idea and it's not like we have never done business with the UK.

Live updates: Trump announces 'full and comprehensive' trade deal with UK

President Donald Trump touted a “tremendous trade deal” between the U.S. and United Kingdom as he discussed the first trade agreement since he imposed sweeping tariffs in April.

“I'm thrilled to announce that we have reached a breakthrough trade deal with the United Kingdom,” Trump said May 8 from the Oval Office, noting that the agreement happened to fall on "Victory Day" in celebration of the end of World War II. “There could be no more perfect morning to reach this historic agreement,” Trump said.

Trump said the agreement would provide billions of dollars in access for U.S. agricultural products such as beef and ethanol. “They’re opening up their country,” Trump said. “Their country is a little closed and we appreciate it.”

some people are happy about it. But you know more? Like Winco foods smh!

Looks more like discouraging overuse of credit. 'Mommy Mommy I want'.

Not true. Use of the tariff weapon is reciprocity in trade. Even playing field.
Job development is well underway.

I read AZ is off the charts with training and development in chips.
The Chips Act was Biden.

He said pencils.

But hey, at Wal-Mart you can get a 12 pack of colored pencils for under a dollar...have at it: Robot or human?

and what a cute pic, nice to have a President that enjoys actually being around kids, and not smelling them like the last dembot President.

Biden didn't implement blanket tariffs. He put tariffs on specific items. There is a difference, learn what it is instead of the right wing instinctive need to create a whataboutism.

SHUP loon. Biden did not know what Obiden people were doing. The Robo pen was being used you dumb OX.

Yes, England imports Kentucky whiskey. In fact, England is a significant consumer of American whiskey, including bourbon. The UK has lifted a four-year tariff on American whiskies, making them cheaper on British liquor shelves. Distillers in the UK have even started to mature Kentucky bourbon in the UK, resulting in a unique flavor profile.

After the removal of the tariff, American whiskey imports to the UK increased from $88 million in 2021 to $112 million in 2022.

They're going to make every "deal" out to be the GREATEST THING IN THE HISTORY OF HISTORICAL HISTORIES because fourth grade-level hyperbole is damn near the only way they know how to communicate. That's fine.

Anyway, let's get these done ASAP before lasting damage is done to global supply chains. That's all I care about.

And going forward, the world will continue to seek out new markets. No one likes working with a predator country.

Mac&Cheesedic has his Marxist marching orders. "Lasting damage" "supply chains" he has been bellyaching about for days. "Destroying our relationsships"? Uh....do you stay with a wife that batters you? you poor old utah nutcase.

No one cares what you have to say, Karen. I think I’d kill myself if my entire life consisted of bitching about who’s running Canada.

Anger and bitterness seems to be all you have left, and you keep projecting it onto everyone but yourselves.
Canada is a shit hole country, in the middle of a massive economic crisis, people literally can't afford to buy homes..

Canada’s Million-Dollar Housing Crisis

Canada stuck in recession if you look past the headline numbers, say economists

Yes, we're in a housing crisis. It was an election issue. Carney has a detailed plan to increase construction, and lower the cost of new housing, with additional incentives for first time buyers. It'll be in the upcoming Speech from the Throne, which King Charles will be presenting to Parliament, on May 27th.

Also, mortgage interest rates in Canada are dropping, unlike the USA where Trump's behaviour has upended the booming economy Trump inherited.

The Financial Post is a right wing American owned publication, so their commentary is VERY pro Conservative. Yes, if you ignore the REAL numbers in the Canadian economy, we're in a recession.

Sounds like bafflegab to me.

And Trump eliminated it.
Wrong again.

Like with Obamacare, it takes an act of congress.

Trump wants to end the ‘horrible, horrible’ CHIPS Act. It’s not that simple.

As part of his address to Congress last week, President Donald Trump made clear that he wanted to cancel the $52.7 billion CHIPS and Science Act, which semiconductor manufacturers have relied on for funding expansion projects across the country.
Defunding the bill would require an act of Congress, which one expert says would be unlikely to pass.
