Trump administration orders Pentagon to plan for sweeping budget cuts

Well this is Interesting. A forty percent defense cut?

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered senior leaders at the Pentagon and throughout the U.S. military to develop plans for cutting 8 percent from the defense budget in each of the next five years, according to a memo obtained by The Washington Post and officials familiar with the matter — a striking proposal certain to face internal resistance and strident bipartisan opposition in Congress.

I supported Don Rumsfeld when he first went and was going to deal with making the military leaner and meaner, etc.

This game of Trump's? Not very smart. Just demands to meet goals of cutting a budget.

America's enemies are salivating

Trump is proposing the US, China, and Russia all agree to reduce defense spending by 50%.

You people are going to HATE it.

Because that's what gives us superiority over China, China Shill Boy!
And you bet your ass it does.
America has the ability to project force. I would not recommend messing with America.
For sure the aircraft carriers will rule the waves, for the first 10 minutes at least Dook!

Then 40,000 - 50,000 American sailors will rule the deep end of the swimming pool.

Dozens of bases across the globe can be shuttered.....Especially in Europe.

That's true but decentralizing our resources from a blue state to a red state in the name of national security might be a wise idea also thus giving the red state more financial security from all those military paychecks being spent on their economy.

Besides it's the military that helps out in disaster relief situations like hurricanes in North Carolina. Is there a Naval base in North Carolina? And I'm sure Top Gun can do their training in Montana and the next time a Chinese balloon crosses the border up there they can do some live fire practice.

CHUCKLE

According to the Washington Post, Defense Secretary Hegseth signed a memorandum ordering the Pentagon and all U.S. military departments to develop plans to cut 40 percent of the defense budget by 2030, at 8 percent a year.

Clearly this is not from a good life. U.S. financial capitalism is fucked, they've stole too much.

If this news is true - no denials yet - then the US are not only leaving Europe, but will close most of their 800 military bases on the globe.

Secretary of State Rubio said - multipolarity is coming. The hegemon is crawling away. But there's no way to “focus” and come back.
Simply because China graduates 5 times more specialists in exact sciences from its universities than the US does from american universities. The US are now trying to respond by importing indian coders into US, but they have already lost the future...

Really? :auiqs.jpg:
How mentally ill does that man sound. wtf is he saying? does he even know?

This crap and then:

On a largely party-line vote, 52-48, Senate Republicans won adoption of a blueprint that calls for a $150 billion increase in military spending and $175 billion more for border security over the next decade.

Did anyone see the movie "Independence Day"? When they question how the taxpayers could fund a secret base that houses a flying saucer one of the characters quips "remember the government buying $200 hammers"? The point is that society used to be encouraged by Hollywood and the media to be skeptical of government reckless spending. What happened?

Well.... Lefty has been screaming for decades that the Pentagon takes too much. But now that it's Trump's decision they're going to hate it.
