Memos "reviewed by Reuters?"The cost of this little debacle:
The 500 tons of USAID biscuits cost approximately $793,000 before they expired, according to two internal USAID memos reviewed by Reuters. The cost to destroy them is estimated to be an additional $100,000. The biscuits were intended for children in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Meanwhile DOGE was supposed to find and eliminate government waste.
So instead of burning it, at a cost of $100,000. They should either sell or donate it to someone who will turn it info animal feed.
In general, crackers distributed by USAID for human consumption can potentially be repurposed as animal feed,
Crackers considered for animal feed should be safe, meaning they may have minor quality issues or have passed their "best by" date, but are not unsafe for humans or animals.
Why not just print the memos?
