I hate waste. There should be a mechanism for that food to be donated to charitable organizations, redistributed to people in need, or at least given to hog farmers to feed their animals—instead of just throwing it in the trash.

I think what Israel is trying to do is starve Hamas, which is arguably a militarily acceptable strategy. But the problem is, if there's food in Gaza, Hamas will take it, and the people will suffer—because Hamas simply doesn't care. They've already demonstrated inhumane behavior by intentionally starving babies. Those babies don't need to starve; they could be evacuated from Hamas-controlled areas. Israel would allow it, and Egypt would accept them into their country. But Hamas intentionally keeps them there for propaganda purposes. So there's no way to deny them food without consequences. If it came to it, they might even revert to cannibalism—eating their own people—just to continue killing Jews.
