Except for English taxi's. They have to memorize London (known as "the knowledge") where they have to know how to go anywhere, by having memorized the routes, streets, and businesses.

The Knowledge was introduced as a requirement for taxi drivers in 1865. Mastering the Knowledge typically takes students three to four years;

They weren't truck drivers operating in the United States, though. If you come here to live, work, you speak the language. If you come to do tours, tourism, etc, it's not really needed.
