Obama's book, Audacity of Hope indicates a Pragmatic Centrist. If you read it, you glean that he prefers the middle road. He's left of center, but nowhere near as far left as many people believe or would want you to believe. Drastic times called for drastic measures when he inherited a shitstorm economy littered with enormous challenges, he did what was necessary, but he's not an extreme lefty.
Now, Nancy Pelosi is. That's what her District wants her to be, and apparently that's what her House wanted in a Speaker. Can't fault her for it. She did what her constituents and Party wanted. Perhaps she could have had a more centrist view and tried to work more with Republicans to get things done. Anyway, we see what happened to her, she won't be Speaker much longer. As for Barack, we'll see what the GOP does to try to paint him into something he's not. I doubt Barack is quite as crafty as Bill, but underestimating him would be a bad mistake. Triangulate is Barack's new MO.
