IDK, I guess I would define it as spying for another country by a citizen of the US, taking up arms against the US with the intent of destabilizing the government, and/or encouraging others to do the same.

My late father was both a citizen of the US (where he lived most of his life) and Germany (where he was born.)

Germany didn't even revoke his citizenship when he hit the beaches at Normandy.

I believe nearly our entire political class is guilty of treason and have been for a few decades.

Conferring with a belligerent, in order to tell them what you'll do or not do, and potentially mutiny, isn't treasonous?

Traitorous, but not Treasonous.... And being a traitor is used in federal law enforcement, there are a few statutes written on it and in practice, from what I've read!
