When Trump says he inherited record inflation he's either an intentional liar or is in league with Biden in terms of dementia. We had Nixon's wage & price controls, Ford's WIN buttons (Whip Inflation Now), Carter's appointment of Paul Volcker as Fed Chair, and Reagan's support of Volcker's tight money supply policy.

It is an especially bad look for somebody with a background in real estate to forget how bad inflation was back then. Bad enough that that in 1981 mortgage loan interest rates peaked at just over 16.5%.
