Nice city eh? Police States aren't cheap. Sorry pal, we know we made you spend $50k but that is 1/3rd the salary of one of our covert creepy ones and thus we can't pay you since we are broke.

Imagine how this province will look in a year or two...

A Toronto charity that's provided skates, sticks and hockey helmets to hundreds of children in need says it's being stiffed by the city for the cost of the equipment.

Skate to Great says it was promised that a portion of its costs — at least $50,000 — would be covered by the city within two months when former city councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker contacted its volunteer chair Evan Kosiner and asked the organization to round up the equipment in March 2018.

But the money never materialized, Kosiner says.

When a government official promises us something, but doesn't deliver, what can we do? There is nothing we can do. No recourse.

The federal government was talking about a benefit, and a lot of stakeholders were really looking forward to it. But turns out, it fell way short of expectations. And by that I mean, the money was absolutely inadequate to do what the government said it was intended to do. So, again, the government didn't deliver. What can we do? There is nothing we can do. No recourse.
