The fake news media was dealt a blow today as a key figure involved in one of the most dishonest programs in America suddenly called it quits in the face of a Trump lawsuit.
As The New York Times reported, Bill Owens, the top executive producer of the CBS News show “60 Minutes,” abruptly quit today. In an email, he revealed to the show’s staff that he has resigned because of “a lack of journalistic independence.”
“Over the past months, it has become clear that I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it, to make independent decisions based on what was right for ’60 Minutes,’ right for the audience,” Owens said in a memo obtained by the Times.
“So, having defended this show — and what we stand for — from every angle, over time with everything I could, I am stepping aside so the show can move forward,” he added.

According to the lawsuit, Trump cited “the immense harm caused to him, to his campaign, and to tens of millions of citizens in Texas and across America by CBS’s deceptive broadcasting conduct.”
This was the definition of election interference. Fake news 60 Minutes was caught editing Kamala’s answers to make her sound coherent and normal.
It was so bad that ’60 Minutes’ spliced her nonsensical answer and replaced it with a separate sentence she said earlier in the interview.
CBS, of course, claimed they did nothing wrong, and attacked Trump for not participating in the interview.
The network is now reportedly in talks to settle the lawsuit with Trump. This would follow a move by Disney late last year which agreed to pay $15 million to Trump’s presidential library after anchor and Clinton henchman George Stephanopoulos lied about Trump being found liable in a court case for r*ping wacky writer E. Jean Carroll.
Trump has since pushed for CBS to lose its license.

CBS translation: "I can't lie with impunity anymore."
CBS should be forced to pay president Trump $10 billion and they should also lose their broadcast license. This fake news nonsense MUST end! Americans deserve to hear the truth, not false narratives invented by Marxist democrats and broadcast by the corrupt media.

The 46th News & Documentary Emmy Awards nominations are out, and it seems that everyone is talking about just one of them. The “Outstanding Edited Interview” category is hardly a common draw for public or even industry attention. However, one of this year’s nominees is CBS for its primetime special featuring then-Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The interview is the basis for a $20 billion lawsuit by President Donald Trump against CBS News and its parent company, Paramount Global, alleging election interference due to the biased editing out of an embarrassing answer by Harris.
The nomination seems clearly designed to push back at Trump and rally around CBS. (For the record, I opposed this lawsuit on both legal and policy grounds.) However, it sends precisely the wrong message for the media at this time.
Many have criticized CBS for its editing of the interview with journalist Bill Whitaker after the network shortened portions of Harris’s answer to a question about the war in Gaza in its initial broadcast. It later provided a full transcript of her remarks online. (For full disclosure, I worked twice under contract with CBS as a legal analyst.)

60 Minutes decided that viewers did not have to see that part of the answer in primetime, even as part of an answer in which Harris claims that they want to be “clear” on where they stand on the issue.
CBS was wrong in the editing. Moreover, the suggestion that it should be given an award for such biased editing says much about the state of American journalism. No doubt many in the media approved of the network cleaning up Harris, yet again, for public reviewing.

However, the threats of harassing lawsuits destroy any moral high ground for Trump. It is also entirely unnecessary. As I will address this week at the Library of Congress, the public is leaving mainstream media en masse in favor of new media. Revenue and readers/viewers are dropping for many media outlets. That includes CBS, which has continued to struggle with ratings while refusing to offer more balanced coverage, including a recent controversy over pushing the “baby hoax.”
CBS was wrong in the editing of the interview and the nomination of the network for the interview only magnifies that error. However, the Administration should leave this matter to the public and the market to sort out.

It’s unbelievable how the media is so brazenly corrupt.
This is really a damning statement about the lack of character and trust of the entire MSM. Sadly, the MSM has truly become the new Quislings for the Marxist Democrat Left, even though the MSM are changing the faces on the evening news, the clowns writing the script still see the newscasts as a platform to promote their agenda, not to present the facts on both sides of an issue and let the viewer decide. Until they change that stance, they will continue their downward slide into the toilet...where their message belongs.
