The liberals pushing these EVs on us are, as per usual... ignoring important information and

also as per usual: SCIENCE

we are shocked.. utterly shocked! The dimrats? Nahhhhhh

the same people who say boys can be girls and even have a baby? Same people who say that its not human, not alive until it pops out of the womb and even then we should have the legal right to kill "it"???

those people are ignoring the science on EVs?

nahh

Wait till they figure out that solar panels may be responsible for even more environmental problems than killing off millions of birds with disorientation and lethal heat. This earth is starting to swelter with all that transferred heat and light. I don't think this year's confused weather of drought and floods, drought and floods, ending with droughts is an accident caused by outer space. I think it's caused by the massive amount of excess heat of what seemed to be an answer to having free electricity per home. This planet is reaching a human population of 8 billion:
  • As of today, the total population of the world is around 8.01 billion people. The first billion was reached around 1800 and in just 200 years we reached 7 billion. According to Population Division of United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, these are the main milestones:

DROUGHTS IN THE AMAZON, CYCLONES IN VIETNAM
Covering 20% of the Sahara with solar farms raises local temperatures in the desert by 1.5°C according to our model. At 50% coverage, the temperature increase is 2.5°C. This warming is eventually spread around the globe by the atmosphere and ocean movement, raising the world’s average temperature by 0.16°C for 20% coverage, and 0.39°C for 50% coverage. The global temperature shift is not uniform though – the polar regions would warm more than the tropics, increasing sea ice loss in the Arctic. This could further accelerate warming, as melting sea ice exposes dark water which absorbs much more solar energy.
This massive new heat source in the Sahara reorganizes global air and ocean circulation, affecting precipitation patterns around the world. The narrow band of heavy rainfall in the tropics, which accounts for more than 30% of global precipitation and supports the rainforests of the Amazon and Congo Basin, shifts northward in our simulations. For the Amazon region, this causes droughts as less moisture arrives from the ocean. Roughly the same amount of additional rainfall that falls over the Sahara due to the surface-darkening effects of solar panels is lost from the Amazon. The model also predicts more frequent tropical cyclones hitting North American and East Asian coasts.

Californians are going to find out the hard way once a third or more of vehicles on the road are electric. Imagine the lines at charging stations and the wait time.

They used to say that about car battery chargers when slow trickle was all the rage and it took at least twenty-four hours to charge a battery, now it takes less than an hour.

What are the impact?

Exactly

Years ago, California had to import electricity all the way from Wyoming! They had no resources to give out electricity to everybody, so they had to depend on other parts a thousand miles away! Gosh, that was back in the late seventies. Maybe their resources are better served now. They fought against having nuclear powered electric facilities.

Basically, Otto, it requires twice the oil, gas, coal and other elemental sources because electricity is very erratic in its loss before reaching the outlet from the source. A propane tank is more efficient than importing electricity from an electric plant 40 miles away. The further away the electric source is from the user, the more electricity is wasted into the environment from the lines. Electricity is a leaky system, and very prone to waste. Why do you think they build massive walls around all those transfomers delivering electricity to distant places from the electric generating plant? Answer: because you can get electrocuted if you touch a voltage transformer in its operation. And you will be a crispy critter if you ignore the "Do not enter" signs without knowledge of the dangers inside the transformer's walled off for human safety. You also would be electrocuted if you climbed a pole and touched an active wire transmitting electricity upon demand. Birds are safe if all they are touching is a wire. But if they have one foot on the wooden pole and any part of them touching a wire, the goose is cooked. My late husband was the professional engineer of the crews in the state we lived in for 25 years, and 5 years south of Portland, Oregon. His safety meetings prevented a lot of worker electrocutions. His territory had fewer electrocutions than any other territory in the distribution area of his company. In fact, he was the only one who had NO electrocutions in 25 years. He never once had to go tell a wife her husband would not be coming home due to an accident, and he had no lost-time accidents either. He was a prince of a man who cared that his people would observe safety at work with no failures. Lucky me to have 44 years with a true prince who cared for his guys as much as he cared for his family. :huddle:

I'm not against EV's at all, in fact I plan on adding one to my stable. However, IMO a person would be nuts to have one as their only vehicle.
Why would you want one? They’re bad for the environment, unreliable and cause economic hardship for others. The only reason anyone has one now is for ego and virtue signaling.

The left does not understand thermodynamics.
Every time energy is transferred from chemical, to mechanical to electrical and then back to mechanical energy there is a huge energy loss.
It is inefficient, and it is not going to change the climate one bit.
Climate change is a natural occurrence.
It has been going on forever.
Taxes and regulations can't change it.

the dims never think long and hard.. They likely don't think at all.. (the evidence is there)

sigh

Why should we always have this heavy load to drag around with us... namely: libs among us?

They may know this

But its a great excuse for grabbing more tax money!

they figure everyone cares about the environment and that is basically true. We just don't all care about it enough to destroy our lives over it.. assuming there is any serious problem w/ the environment

which most of us do not assume or know

Those were lead-acid batteries. They haven't changed.

Good thing we passed the infrastructure bill then huh?
