Maybe God ntervened for Trump, maybe he didn't. I don't know. I hear so much God does this, God does that.
If you do this God will do that.

I've sometimes have had to give a talk in church or teach a class. But one thing I try not to do is put words in God's mouth

Which church to you go to that you have to teach a class?
I do agree with you that there are many times people do this. God wouldn't let my son die and things like that. So, when he dies, they turn against God. You know...
As far as Trump, I have no problem people believing that he was saved by God. That's not putting words in his mouth. That's just a feeling people have and that's okay.

Ya, I wish more people would actually pay attention to the brethren during General Conferences more. They wouldn't get caught up into this If I do this then God will and must do that. When it doesn't happen then they get all bent out of shape and we don't see them for a few years until they need help with food.
