Today, July 10th, was the start of the Scopes Trial, also called Scopes Monkey Trial, (July 10–21, 1925, Dayton, Tennessee, U.S.), highly publicized trial (known as the “Monkey Trial”) of a Dayton, Tennessee, high-school teacher, John T. Scopes, charged with violating state law by teaching Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. The trial’s proceedings helped to bring the scientific evidence for evolution into the public sphere while also stoking a national debate over the veracity of evolution that continues to the present day.” Britannica.com

A perfect time to put the trial in perspective.

You know the song, the Impossible Dream. Well, perhaps sometimes just being willing to fight will have to be enough.

1.Being the pessimist that I am, I look at the advances the Left, the religion of Militant Secularism has made, the chaos in our streets enabled by the major party, find it difficult to envision better times ahead for America.

“This is precisely the time — right now, tonight — to defend the institutions we desperately need to keep in this country,” Carlson added. “Those institutions include the nuclear family, our freedom of speech, small independent businesses, absolute color blindness under the law, the noble tradition of non-violent protests. Those are the things that make us proud to be Americans. Those are the things that make America a place worth living in. We need to defend these things with everything we have. All of us must defend them, including the president. That is his hope of reelection. For the rest of us, it is our only hope as a country.”
Tucker Carlson

And let's include freedom of thought, and freedom of religion....the antitheses of Democrat doctrine.

2. But it is dissipating before our eyes, and there is no cavalry coming to the rescue. Did you think the courts would save America? Don’t.

“The tendency of elite domination, moreover, is to press America ever more steadily towards the cultural left.
The complaint here is not that old virtues are eroding and new values rising. Morality inevitably evolves….What is objectionable is that, in too many instances, a natural evolution of the moral balance is blocked and a minority morality forced upon us by judicial decrees.”

Robert Bork, “A Country I Do Not Recognize: The Legal Assault on American Values,” xi

The Left, the neo-Marxists, either control the legal system, or has the ability to co-opt the ones we thought were conservative, originalists, textualists.

3. When it comes to being able to understand right and wrong, why is it that some elite supposedly has a better grasp on it? Why isn’t voluntary prayer allowed? How Orwellian is it to treat religion and morality as though it is evil, and to be banished from the public arena? And that, in the face of a century when atheistic doctrines caused the deaths of over 100 million human being.

“The Left says of the Right, “You fools, it is demonstrable that dinosaurs lived one hundred million years ago, I can prove it to you, how can you say the earth was created in 4000BCE?” But this supposed intransigence on the part of the Religious Right is far less detrimental to the health of the body politic than the Left’s love affair with Marxism, Socialism, Racialism, the Command Economy, all of which have been proven via one hundred years of evidence shows only shortages, despotism and murder.”
David Mamet's "The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture."

4. The media made an agreement with the nascent nation to be fair and honest, and in return was given a special place in our first amendment. The lied. The media, the schools, the legal system….all lined up against the principles upon which this nation was created, promised.

Militant Secularism appears to be the unbeatable foe.

5. Britannica wrote this about the Scopes Trial: “The trial’s proceedings helped to bring the scientific evidence for evolution into the public sphere.” The problem is, there is no such evidence for the Darwinism taught as fact.

Nowhere is freedom less on display than the government school system, owned and operated by the Left.

“In 1981 the state legislature of Louisiana passed a law requiring that if “evolution-science” is taught in the public schools, the schools must also provide balanced treatment for something called “creation-science.” The statute was a direct challenge to the scientific orthodoxy of today, which is that all living things evolved by a gradual, natural process—from nonliving matter to simple microorganisms, leading eventually to man.

Evolution is taught in the public schools (and presented in the media) not as a theory but as a fact, the “fact of evolution.” There are nonetheless many dissidents, some with advanced scientific degrees, who deny that evolution is a fact and who insist that an intelligent Creator caused all living things to come into being in furtherance of a purpose.”
“Darwin on Trial.” by Phillip E. Johnson

Never mind your knee-jerk anti-religion views, but from the perspective of liberty, why can’t a free people make that decision, to teach both, to explore the strengths and weaknesses of both views….and let those exposed to the two views make their own decisions?

Where does the Constitution authorize 'outlawing' of a legitimate alternative view????

Why do the thought-Nazis make one view ‘verboten’?

And…..let’s remember, neither view has been proven.

Are there any Darwin statues around?

Funny!

But.....is you need one to topple....here's a Lenin statue in Seattle

6. As Law Professor Johnson noted, “…There are nonetheless many dissidents, some with advanced scientific degrees, who deny that evolution is a fact…”

The International Left hates religion....but.....

... Dennis Prager points this out: “In my lifetime alone, science went from positing a universe that always existed to positing a universe that had a beginning (the Big Bang). So, in just one generation [the Bible], in describing a beginning to the universe, went from conflicting with science to agreeing with science….[The Bible] should not violate essential truths (for example, it accurately depicts human beings as the last creation).”

And Scientist Andrew Parker writes in ‘The Genesis Enigma,’ that at this time, the stepwise order of the creation of earth and life on earth believed by modern science to have occurred, mirrors the very same steps in Genesis, written three millennia ago. And sorted out by people living in a desert.

No one today demands that the hypothetical Darwin’s theory not be allowed to be taught.

What would the danger have been to allow American locales their birthright, to make their own determination about what is taught.

What possible compelling government interest could this represent????

Evolution is a scientific theory, accepted by the vast majority of scientists and supported by evidence from multiple sciences. “Creation-science" is not science it is theology with no scientific evidence to support it. I don't want my children being taught that evolution is a religion any more than I want them being taught creationism is a science.

You should be careful what you wish for since there is no more evidence for Genesis than there is for the creation myths of other societies. If you want children to be taught that Olympia or Valhalla are alternates equal to heaven you go right ahead.

"Evolution is a scientific theory, ...." ....taught to school children and the weak minded, as a fact.

"...supported by evidence from multiple sciences." Here is the proof of what I just wrote.

“Creation-science" is not science it is theology with no scientific evidence to support it."
And the same is true of the Darwinism you've been indoctrinated to believe in.

"...there is no more evidence for Genesis than there is for the creation myths of other societies."
And yet modern science has come to agree with the very same order of creation put forth in a three millennia old text, written by folks who lived in a desert.

While you've claimed that there is evidence for Darwinism, I notice you've failed to present any.
And, there is this:

"There are no fossils known that show what the primitive ancestral insects looked like, . . . . Until fossils of these ancestors are discovered, however, the early history of the insects can only be inferred." Peter Farb, The Insects, Life N "Thus so far as concerns the major groups of animals, the creationists seem to have the better of the argument. There is not the slightest evidence that any one of the major groups arose from any other. Each is a special animal complex related, more or less closely, to all the rest, and appearing, therefore, as a special and distinct creation." Austin H. Clark, "Animal Evolution," Quarterly Review of Biology, Vol. 3, No. 4, December 1928, p. 539.

The one hundred percent subjective idea of evolution was and is still the violent atheist movement's answer to centuries of Old World rule by the classic Church. Evolution is a framework and a roadmap for dismantling Christian orthodoxy. Clearly, in the mind of most any reasonable, thinking person, evolution is nothing more than an idea Darwin fantasized in his mind as a long, detailed string of answers to his own deepest held questions and desires. Also evident is Darwin's motivation: not to disprove God or His act of Creation, but to disguise it from minds whose faith was shaken some by radical left Enlightenment writers and philosophers. See, even in the earlier ideological movements of the radical left the cancel culture is evident; Darwin believed he could aid the radical left in canceling God. By 2020 AD we, the good people of the United States, have somehow allowed Darwin to almost do just that, from his grave.

You know the song, the Impossible Dream. Well, perhaps sometimes just being willing to fight will have to be enough.

The willingness to fight and die for the lives and freedoms of others is the beating heart and soul of light of every human civilization which has promoted the traditional family structure.

And let's include freedom of thought, and freedom of religion....the antitheses of Democrat doctrine.

We've arrived at a point in the history of our great nation when the very foundational systems our civilization was built to stand and grow upon have been poisoned and hijacked. Those fundamental systems and the philosophies and political structures which enable their function are now being used against us. What this means is our system can no longer save us or our nation from collapse and rebirth as a very dark and openly evil version of what the Founders intended. Thus there's no denying the time has arrived to physically and very violently fight for the survival of our nation and ourselves. Few if any other Americans are either aware of this, or if they are, on board with it. Our laws can no longer protect us. Our courts can no longer settle legal disputes. Our legislative bodies can no longer create new laws to sort out this mess, and our justice system is no longer willing to prevent the death and destruction of everyone and everything we cherish. If we fight, actually fight, then we shall win. But if we continue to stand around like animals caught in headlights out on some turnpike, then we will all perish along with our precious civilization.

We must act as our own cavalry. Guerilla wars and counterinsurgency campaigns are long, bloody slogs to be sure, however, considering what's at stake if we lose, I believe we can and will win, even if we must engage the full might of the military itself. Myself, I have trained foreign fighters to fight and win both insurrections and counterinsurgency/counterterrorism low intensity wars. I for one will train my fellow Americans to do the same, when and if it comes to that.

Yes. This ancient enemy is using our fundamental systems of freedom against us because they know that good, Christian, patriotic, law-abiding Americans will never go against the law, no matter how sociopathic any law becomes. We must break this cycle and show them our true resolve.

I'm lovin' it!

"Critics of ID have long argued that the theory was unscientific because it had not been put forward in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Now that it has, they argue that it shouldn't have been because it's unscientific. They banish certain ideas from certain venues as if by holy writ, and brand heretics too. In any case, the heretic here is Mr. Meyer, a fellow at Seattle's Discovery Institute, not Mr. Sternberg, who isn't himself an advocate of Intelligent Design.

Darwinism, by contrast, is an essential ingredient in secularism, that aggressive, quasi-religious faith without a deity. The Sternberg case seems, in many ways, an instance of one religion persecuting a rival, demanding loyalty from anyone who enters one of its churches -- like the National Museum of Natural History.” The Branding of a Heretic

Now, today marks the start of the famous Scopes Monkey Trial.....

7. The legendary Scopes Monkey Trial has an interesting sidelight: fraud.

“The Tennessee legislature had passed as a symbolic measure a statute prohibiting the teaching of evolution, which the governor signed only with the explicit understanding that the ban would not be enforced….
Opponents of the law (and some people who just wanted to put Dayton, Tennessee, on the map) engineered a test case. A former substitute teacher named Scopes, who wasn’t sure whether he had ever actually taught evolution, volunteered to be the defendant….the principal spokesman for evolution during the 1920s was Henry Fairfield Osborn, Director of the American Museum of Natural History.

Osborn relied heavily upon the notorious Piltdown Man fossil, now known to be a fraud, and he was delighted to confirm the discovery of a supposedly pre-human fossil tooth by the paleontologist Harold Cooke in Bryan’s home state of Nebraska.

Thereafter Osborn prominently featured “Nebraska Man” (scientific designation: Hesperopithecus haroldcookii) in his antifundamentalist newspaper articles and radio broadcasts, until the tooth was discovered to be from a peccary, a kind of pig.”

Johnson, Op. cit.

Britannica.com: “The trial’s proceedings helped to bring the scientific evidence for evolution into the public sphere.”

The problem is, there is no such evidence for the Darwinism taught to children as fact.

“In 1981 the state legislature of Louisiana passed a law requiring that if “evolution-science” is taught in the public schools, the schools must also provide balanced treatment for something called “creation-science.”

8. “Louisiana’s statute never went into effect because a federal judge promptly held it unconstitutional as an “establishment of religion.” In 1987 the Supreme Court of the United States affirmed this decision by a seven to two majority. The Louisiana law was unconstitutional, said the majority opinion by Justice William Brennan, because its purpose “was clearly to advance the religious viewpoint that a supernatural being created humankind.”

Not so, said the dissenting opinion by Justice Antonin Scalia, because “The people of Louisiana, including those who are Christian fundamentalists, are quite entitled, as a secular matter, to have whatever scientific evidence there may be against evolution presented in their schools, just as Mr. Scopes was entitled to present whatever scientific evidence there was for it. [Gads, how I miss Scalia!]

…the Louisiana legislature had acted on the premise that legitimate scientific objections to “evolution” were being suppressed. Some might doubt that such objections exist, ….considering that the state had been given no opportunity to show what balanced treatment would mean in practice.

In addition, the creation-scientists were arguing that the teaching of evolution itself had a religious objective, namely to discredit the idea that a supernatural being created mankind. Taking all this into account, Justice Scalia thought that the Constitution permitted the legislature to give people offended by the allegedly dogmatic teaching of evolution a fair opportunity to reply.” Johnson, Op. Cit.

As a conservative, Scalia was pro-freedom, pro-liberty. Brennan, on the other side, despised the United States Constitution, as so many Liberals do.

“Creation-science" is not science it is theology with no scientific evidence to support it."
And the same is true of the Darwinism you've been indoctrinated to believe in.
As a collector of fossils, I have held the evidence for evolution in my very own hands. Go to any road cut in the Appalachian Mountains and you can see it for yourself. Of course you'd have to open your eyes AND your mind to get past what you've been indoctrinated to believe in.

That's just silly. Science takes no position on God, they occupy different realms so believing in one should have no impact on believing in the other. Evolution provides the best explanation of how species came to be. You have said yourself there is no other explanation. It seems obvious to me that, if there is a God, he must have a mechanism for creation and the most obvious one is evolution.

It is not evidence for Darwinism theory unless it can be documented to show speciation.

No such thing has ever been shown.

Let's prove that:

"But the curious thing is that there is a consistency about the fossil gaps: the fossils go missing in all the important places. When you look for links between major groups of animals, they simply aren't there; at least, not in enough numbers to put their status beyond doubt. Either they don't exist at all, or they are so rare that endless argument goes on about whether a particular fossil is, or isn't, or might be, transitional between this group or that." [emphasis in original] Francis Hitching, The Neck of the Giraffe: Where Darwin Went Wrong(New Haven Ct,:Ticknor and Fields, 1992) p. 19. (See my articleThe Coelacanth, Living Fossils, and Evolution).

There is no fossil record establishing historical continuity of structure for most characters that might be used to assess relationships among phyla." Katherine G. Field et al., "Molecular Phylogeny of the animal Kingdom," Science, Vol. 239, 12 February 1988, p. 748.

". . . there are no intermediate forms between finned and limbed creatures in the fossil collections of the world." G.R. Taylor, The Great Evolution Mystery, ( N.Y: Harper and Row, 1983) p. 60.

". . . the gradual morphological transitions between presumed ancestors and descendants, anticipated by most biologists, are missing." David E. Schindel (Curator of Invertebrate Fossils, Peabody Museum of Natural History), "The Gaps in the Fossil Record," Nature, Vol. 297, 27 May 1982, p. 282.

"Gaps at a lower taxonomic level, species and genera, are practically universal in the fossil record of the mammal-like reptiles. In no single adequately documented case is it possible to trace a transition, species by species, from one genus to another." Thomas S. Kemp,Mammal-like Reptiles and the Origin of Mammals (New York: Academic Press, 1982), p. 319.

So what you have is some paperweights, and a lack of education.

Believing in a doctrine sans proof is known as faith.

Darwinism......your faith.

Go forth and sin no more.

9. Mainstream science has been so infected with Marxism, that its demands for atheism is indistinguishable from a religion itself, Militant Secularism.

“The literature of Darwinism is full of anti-theistic conclusions,
such as that the universe was not designed and has no purpose, and that we humans are the product of blind natural processes that care nothing about us.

What is more, these statements are not presented as personal opinions but as the logical implications of evolutionary science.

Another factor that makes evolutionary science seem a lot like religion is the evident zeal of Darwinists to evangelize the world, by insisting than even non- scientists accept the truth of their theory as a matter of moral obligation.”
Johnson, Op. Cit.

Nothing wrong with having a set of beliefs, a faith, in fact, the Constitution makes certain it is authorized.

What is not authorized, is the imposition of those beliefs on other free individuals.

As Darwinism has not only not been proven.....but has been disproven by developments......it has no right to be taught as the only basis for the modification of organism over time.

. "But where is the experimental evidence? None exists in the literature
claiming that one species has been shown to evolve into another. Bacteria,
the simplest form of independent life, are ideal for this kind of study,
with generation times of 20 to 30 minutes, and populations achieved after
18 hours. But throughout 150 years of the science of bacteriology, there
is no evidence that one species of bacteria has changed into another, in
spite of the fact that populations have been exposed to potent chemical
and physical mutagens and that, uniquely, bacteria possess
extrachromosomal, transmissible plasmids.

Since there is no evidence for
species changes between the simplest forms of unicellular life, it is not
surprising that there is no evidence for evolution from prokaryotic to
eukaryotic cells, let alone throughout the whole array of higher
multicellular organisms."

It is not evidence for Darwinism theory unless it can be documented to show speciation.
Then it's a very good thing that it does show speciation. The Appalachians are mainly marine sediments laid down over millions of years. In one bed are various marine creatures while in younger beds are a completely different assemblage of creatures. Old species have gone extinct and new species have taken their place.

In addition, the creation-scientists were arguing that the teaching of evolution itself had a religious objective, namely to discredit the idea that a supernatural being created mankind.

Believing in a doctrine sans proof is known as faith.

Darwinism......your faith.

Go forth and sin no more.
I have faith in science because the evidence is there for anyone to review. You have faith in what others have told you since you can't review their evidence FOR anything, only their pointing to gaps in other theories.
