Tire removed from elk's neck after more than 2 years

CPW has been trying to locate and free the elk for more than two years. The tire was full of wet pine needles and dirt.

Elk season just opened up in Colorado. Nobody wants to take an elk with a tire on it's neck so the CPW might have removed the elk's only defense.

Odds are he was playing with the tire when he was younger and got it stuck there himself or got tangled up in someone's tire swing.
