The US was once the leader in electronic chip technology, but it lost that position to Japan and later Taiwan simply because those countries are more competitive. Now leading US firms rely on TSMC to make their chips in Taiwan and we import them.

The US has long been uncompetitive, consolidation has reduced the number of competing firms here and that has led to those larger, merged firms to raise prices because they no longer have to compete, this is the case with healthcare for example.

Our entire economy is based on reducing wages and increasing prices and vastly increasing profits for the investors which are often large financial organizations.

Successive governments here have encouraged this by frustrating the growth of unions and by reducing corporation tax that never trickles down to the workers.

Its the same in other countries but the US is a pretty extreme example.

This is private capitalism, it is what it is, it is what it does, makes most people poorer over time.

Trump and his cohorts don't want to see average wages go up, why would they? it hurts profits so why do people actually believe the trumpanzees lies?

I told PJ the same thing. Sam's Club had 72 count Pikes Place Roast on sale, so PJ bought the hell out of it, stacking boxes up in the pantry. If you care for facts (which I doubt) you'd understand that these higher than usual inflation (yes, that's right inflation is very rarely ever zero) figures are attributable to Covid and the Ukraine war, and effected many other nations too, it was a global phenomenon.

The US inflation over the past few years was only very indirectly attributable to Biden's administration, the US is part of a bigger global economy and doesn't and cannot control the world (if you want to control prices then become a communist because that's the bedrock of communism - state control of prices (rather than market control) - tariffs is a step in that direction).

The best way for some people to avoid failure is to deny when they are wrong, it's easy as that and magats are masters at it.
