If you're really 71, you and I have been working about the same length of time. That means you had plenty of years to get situated before you retired. I do understand that sometimes life deals you a crappy hand and if that's your situation, I'm truly sorry for that.

I started my first job when I was 13 years old. I'm now retired though I still work a few hours without pay. Whatever I've got, I earned, saved and invested. I'm not anywhere near rich but I think my money will outlast me and that's the best I can hope for.

Don't blame others for your situation. That makes you no better than the people you're railing about. You're getting Social Security plus whatever your job pays. If you need to work, just be glad you're able to work AND that you can find a job.
