Border Czar Harris is on it!!

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, a caravan of over 3,000 migrants is moving towards the U.S.-Mexico border, driven by fears of potential policy changes should Donald Trump return to the White House. The group, comprising individuals from several Central American nations, hopes to enter the United States before the possibility of stricter immigration regulations under a Trump administration.

...

The Biden administration's current immigration policies have been criticized for being too lenient, leading to an increase in border crossings. In contrast, Trump's previous tenure was marked by efforts to tighten border security, including building a wall along the southern border and implementing the "Remain in Mexico" policy, which required asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while their claims were processed.

The caravan's progress is being closely monitored, and its arrival at the U.S. border will likely intensify the debate over immigration policy in the final stretch of the presidential campaign. Trump has already signaled his intention to revive his hardline stance on immigration, making it a central issue of his campaign.

Smells like you're desperate.

They will be found and removed.

Trump didn't do shit about illegals until Covid. In fact he was an illegal employer himself. And he is again now that he's not president.

What Trump did: In March 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Trump administration invoked Title 42, a controversial statute ostensibly meant as a public health measure.
The policy allowed US authorities to swiftly expel migrants - including asylum seekers - at the border.

Nearly 400,000 people were detained and expelled between its implementation and January 2021, when Trump was tossed out of the White House.

What Biden did: He defended keeping Title 42 in place, using the pandemic as justification.
Over two million people were expelled using Title 42 authority between January 2021 and 11 May 2023

What Trump did: In January 2019, the Trump administration implemented a policy - officially known as Migrant Protection Protocols, or MPP - that forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their US immigration hearings.
About 70,000 people were returned to Mexico under the policy. They were often left there for months at a time and sometimes preyed upon by criminal gangs.
Human Rights First, a charity organisation, estimated that more than 1,500 migrants were kidnapped, raped or abused after being returned to Mexico.

What Biden did: The administration moved to suspend Remain in Mexico on Mr Biden's first day in the White House in January 2021. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) moved to officially terminate the policy in June the same year.
But a ruling by a Trump-appointed federal court judge in Texas found that the administration had improperly cancelled the policy. It was restarted in December 2021.
In June 2022, the US Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration, ruling it didn't violate proper administrative procedure in rescinding Remain in Mexico. The ruling allowed the policy to be terminated.

We have a lot of hispanic voters in this country. Who should they vote for?

Separating families

What Trump did: Under Trump, the US government had a "zero-tolerance" policy that allowed authorities to deport adults who crossed the border illegally.
In some cases parents were deported back to their home countries without their children, who were placed in government custody.
Trump repeatedly defended - and continues to defend - the policy as a way to deter would-be migrants.
At least 3,900 children were separated from their parents between 2017 and 2021.
What Biden did: Mr Biden reversed the practice and some families - but not all - have been reunited.

During a speech in Green Bay, Wisconsin, former President Donald Trump pointed to a chart on apprehensions of people trying to enter the U.S. illegally at the southwest border.

“See the arrow on the bottom? That was my last week in office,” Trump said. “That was the lowest number in history.” But Trump was wrong on both points.

Illegal immigration was not “down to practically nothing” in the weeks or months before Trump left office. It was down to nearly nothing during the stay-at-home phase of the pandemic.

And as we wrote in “Trump’s Final Numbers,” illegal border crossings, as measured by apprehensions at the southwest border, were 14.7% higher in Trump’s final year in office compared with the last full year of Obama’s term.

Given that, had Obama “fixed” the border? Not according to Donald Trump in 2016. Then, he repeatedly called the border “broken” and made fixing it his primary campaign promise.

Immigration was not an issue until this election, Dufus.

They should vote for the one who didn't import criminals to take their jobs.

No because while Trump doesn't let them in when they seek asylum, he hires them if they make it to his golf courses and hotels.

No Trump is slick when he commits crimes. And you don't care even if he does hire illegals. Would that be the straw? So spare me.

Trump hires a 3rd party company who hires the illegals. That way his hands are clean.

One of Biden’s first actions was to order no checking of businesses for illegals.

So either you don’t care about the issue or you’re a total moron.

Of course he vets these companies to make sure illegals, are on the payroll.

Trump will deport invaders even if found working on his property.

Did you see what you wrote? Was that a freudian slip? I think it was. LOL. Thanks for admitting Trump is involved and makes sure illegals are on the payroll.

Yes I see that I was deliberately sarcastic to point out your abject lack of any intelligence whatsoever.

And, you proved me right.
