Bill de Blasio welcomed to Gracie Mansion as thousands line up for unprecedented public housewarming | Mail Online

Bill de Blasio opened the doors of New York City's Gracie Mansion to thousands of public ticket holders on Sunday in an unprecedented housewarming for the new mayor and his family.

De Blasio will be only the tenth mayor to live in the historic Upper East Side Federal-style home, which the Bloomberg administration raised millions to renovate for public viewing.

'I'm thrilled to welcome New Yorkers from across the City into the People’s House,' de Blasio said of the tour using the nickname given the home by Bloomberg, who's be very critical of his successor's decision to move into it.

He and his family welcomed thousands of curious visitors into their 200-year-old new home Sunday morning at the conclusion of a week during which the entire city of 8 million residents welcomed de Blasio as their new mayor.

'It’s been a pleasure sharing the inauguration with residents from all five boroughs, and I can’t think of a better way to end the week than by spending it with New Yorkers,' de Blasio said in a release.

Bill de Blasio took the oath of office on Wednesday, formally becoming the 109th mayor of New York City while pledging to pursue a sweeping liberal agenda.

'Big dreams are not a luxury reserved for a privileged few but the animating force behind every community, in every borough,'
he said in his speech.
That's what got him elected and equality for all is why the R hates him.

Good luck to him.

He will make a terrible mayor and ruin NYC. Moral values will be non-existent there once he is done.

The people who voted for him are going to get what they so richly deserve.

Bend over and grab your ankles, New Yorkers!

His last name is de Blasio.

"de" is not his middle name you maroon!

Ladies and gents, that is a peek behind Luddly's veil of supposed intellectual competence.

Whenever you read his posts, always remember he thought "de" was de Blasio's middle name!!!

HAWWWW!!!!

Been picking up bits and pieces of conversation from the liberal talking heads on a few cable talk shows.
And they were saying that the election of the Mayor of NY shows how America is embracing progressives.
They were pretty pumped up about it...

I suspect many of them have forgotten what it was like in New York when progressive policies ruled there fixing to get a unpleasant trip doing memory lane I think.

Bill De Blasio is custom made to lead New York City. Further into the sewer of failure, that is with his progressive agenda.

The past week or so, they've been showing the STARTUP-NY commercial on TV. Governor Cuomo has created tax-free zones across the state of New York for new and expanding businesses. Businesses would be able to operate 100% tax-free for 10 years. This would apply to businesses on or near college campuses.

I'm not sure if the tax free zones include New York City? Either way, new mayor elect de Blasio has no choice but to go along with the plan.

New Yorkers are already taxed to the limit. I'll bet any potential new investment will slow down a bit till investors can be reassured that the new mayor will not implement any policies that may harm the economy.
