Hillary lost for two basic reasons. 1) she ran on Obama's economic record, and some folks who voted dem in the past, or didn't vote, who found out they bailed out bankers and didn't themselves get bailed out, voted for Trump or didn't vote. 2) Some white women who she thought would vote for her, because Trump is personally a cretin in how he's treated people esp women, didn't vote at all, because they didn't like her either.

In 2012 Gary Johnson ran in the same issue because he was a few hours late from leaving the Republican Primary and running on the Libertarian which meant he was left off states ballots.
