That would be a neat trick if they were headed to the U.S. That trip is roughly 1500 nautical miles. It would take them a few days to make that distance. They ship the stuff to islands off the coast of Venezuela.....and it's shipped to Europe and Mexico in freighters from there.
And what they're carrying is under the table. Venezuela is usually transporting Cocaine from Colombian or Brazilian drug cartels, which sends kick-backs to their governments. The square packages are usually coke. The barrels are powdered chemicals.

The reason they're using Venezuela to send their drugs and precursors is because it's a communist government that is considered an enemy of the United States. They get money from those shipments and don't have to go thru any export/import inspections.

Drugs and human-trafficking is a lucrative business, and a lot of American politicians are getting bribed into looking the other way or setting up roadblocks to the Trump Administration. Drug cartels bribe our judges, senators, and other government officials. It's an obvious fact in Mexico and other countries....but is a dirty little secret here in the states.

The fact that Trump is blowing up those shipments has put a damper on the potency of drugs being discovered in the US.
