It's true that he made another announcement after his vote so while it's not actually a lie it's definitely an effort to project a false impression.

I'm sure Trump made the threat but then again he's been doing that ever since he's been in the office and even when he wasn't in the office. To my knowledge his threat to primary people doesn't actually have very much success.

Tillis just made the announcement today. Says so right in the article.

Trump is more popular at this time than any POTUS in the last 20 years. His threat to Primary somebody means somewhat more today than it did in the past. By a lot.
