This Is Why Teachers Are Quitting

In this case, what was the situation where another student can get hurt?

It only takes one lawsuit to change people's opinions.
The public schools are being used as mental hospitals and they dont have the training for that. I worked in 3 residential treatment centers. The staff is very different. We had a treatment team lead by an MD, mental health techs, various therapists and social workers. Restraints occurred 3 times a week and I experienced a full blown riot.

I was waiting for you to tell us you were an inmate! :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

Thats residential treatment stuff

Yes indeed. Other children have told us point blank that they feel scared by this....but in the age of Victimology, the feces smearers have all the power. For many reasons.

(however, to be fair, they did send that child to a residential center....but had to keep him in our school bc the waitlist for the centers is so long. How scary is THAT?)

There arent enough. We used to get overflow from NJ.

So what was the restraint she used. I had annual training when I worked with kids in mental health on what we could and could not do.

I was born LONG after the days of the paddle and the ruler and I myself am always thinking too bad because the schools still need them.

Thank you. However, that poster disparages me because I could easily get hurt by elementary children. Important to note that I'm 5'0 tall and very petite and many of the students are bigger than I am. But he mocks concerns anyway.

I'm 5'2 so we're basically the same height and although I could easily fight an elementary schooler if needed, I'm not denying the fact that one could easily hurt me either.

Those who are that much of a handful shouldn't even be allowed on the school property any longer, especially if they are a threat to the safety of the other kids, not to mention everyone who works there.

God bless you always!!!

When two students are fighting, for one example.
That wasn't this case, and again, it depends on your state's laws. Being the People's Republic of Taxachusetts, I would bet your state says you can't ever touch them. At least that's what the book says, so they are covered in case you hurt someone.

In my inner-city middle school, I was once counseled by my principal for yelling at a student when he was about to drop a desk on another student. I made up my mind that day that I was leaving that school at the end of the year.

Sounds like the permissive educational system's chickens have come home to roost. ;)

I don’t care what anyone says, I’m not gonna stand by and watch a kid get hurt.
