I tend to agree. There are biases in media, Fox, Newsmax vs MSNBC, ABC, CNN etc.
If we get outraged by any and all comments, even if somewhat personal, there won't be ANY media.
Free speech isn't easy, especially if people have thin skin. I don't have thin skin. I didn't have to lose my life in defense of Free Speech. We all owe it to those who have to defend it, even if it isn't speech we agree with or find offensive.
We really don't need a National Media anyway. At all.
The Media we need is the lonely Reporter sitting in on a Week-Long Town Council meeting so she can keep an eye on where the money is going. Or the dauntless Reporter tracking down a Mobster who is paying off the Mayor or the Union Thug using Dues paid by Hard-Working members to buy a political race.
That's the Media we need. Instead, we get Prima Donnas with College Sophomore views on politics that guides their 'reporting' at every turn.
Unfortunately, there are millions of trusting people out there that still believe the Media is The Last Word. How many times do people cite Media Reports as Proof-Positive on a talking point? And it's accepted in here by our resident Jedi.
When we stop accepting Media as evidence of ANYTHING, when we stop citing Fact-Checks, when we stop using Media-Generated Polls, this will be a better world.
We started relying on Media back when we didn't have access to 24/7/365 Cable News, when we didn't have the ability to transmit reports around the world faster than the speed of light. Back when hard-working, honest folks were doing their best to give us hard facts with no bias, keeping their own opinions to themselves.
Its too bad, but the Media is dead. It is no longer "News" it is entertainment. They don't hire people that work hard and dig up stories, sometimes at the risk of their own lives.
It's all entertainment these days. Biased entertainment
