So you believe people should not have health care. In the richest country of the world , we can't afford to give everyone healthcare. I believe we should. Right now we have half measures. We should do it right and have universal coverage.
How much health care?

How much health care?
Health care costs go down as more people are covered when everyone is covered , rich and poor alike , then costs will be more comparable to all the other countries that have universal coverage. Many people here in America are afraid to go to the doctor because of the costs involved. This delays healthcare and promotes disease , loss of work and early death. Universal healthcare should be a right not a privilege. I ,myself am a victim of the medical monopoly that exists here. I had cancer twice ( before Obamacare ) it wiped out all my savings. Then the cost of the anti-cancet medicine they put me on made it impossible to ever build up those savings again. I worked up to 73. And then my doctor told me I can't work much longer or it would be the death of me. Stress is a factor. But I stress trying to make ends meet too. Only now am I finally getting some help due to Obamacare. Better late than never . At least I avoided becoming homeless. Let's hope trump and his fools don't change that.

We Can't afford to support everyone's bad habits.
Of course everyone should have healthcare but they shouldn't work against their own health by smoking, drinking and drugging. We are all members of the rowboat.... For those who put down the oars and decide to start drilling holes in the bottom of the boat we throw them overboard.

Health care costs go ...
It's a rhetorical question. How we answer it is the key thing that changes when we make it a government concern. It becomes a political question rather than an economic one.

It should be neither. It's a human issue.

Compare our health costs to that of any other nation on the earth. You'd have to be blind not to see that.
woa, wait, you just deflected shemp!!!

No I didn't fool. Health care in America is a monopoly / a racket and you are definitely a fool if you don't understand that.
