As GOP weighs Obamacare cuts, the party’s constituents are more likely to use marketplace coverage, poll finds

Republicans on Capitol Hill are weighing legislation that’s estimated to cut billions of dollars of funding for the Affordable Care Act and cause millions of people to lose their health insurance. Many of their constituents may not be happy about it, polling suggests.

Nearly half, 45%, of adults enrolled in a health plan offered through the ACA insurance marketplace identify as Republicans, according to a new survey by KFF, a nonpartisan group that conducts health policy research.

(More than three-quarters of those Republican ACA users identify as “MAGA” Republicans. Those MAGA Republicans represent 31% of ACA purchasers overall.)

Meanwhile, 35% of Democrats get their health insurance through the ACA, KFF found.

To be clear, the voters I'm referring to are not congressional Repubs voting to screw their own constituents. I'm referring to rank and file Repubs who rely on the ACA for their healthcare because it is not offered by their employer.......if they have one.

But hey, who needs healthcare, or an education for your kids...

........when you get to sit down at your TV each night and be entertained watching The trump Show.

Too many (R) politicians would lose their jobs. Look at Josh Hawley howling over Medicaid cuts.
Congressional Repubs have always relied on low information voters to get and keep their jobs. Why will this be any different?

Republicans in the House of Representatives passed a multitrillion-dollar tax and spending package in May estimated to cut about $900 billion from health programs like Medicaid and the ACA, which is also known as Obamacare.

Thought this would be about California. Look at that fucking Newscum and Bass mess.

Look at the statistical slight-of-hand here...

"Nearly half, 45%, of adults enrolled in a health plan offered through the ACA insurance marketplace identify as Republican..."
"...35% of Democrats get their health insurance through the ACA..."

These are two different things entirely. What percentage of Republicans are enrolled? Not said. What percentage of ACA users are Democrats? Again, not said.

And what does it mean anyway? Republicans are more likely to be self-employed, which puts them into ACA's "sweet spot." Democrats are more likely to have crappy jobs, which means they might not have any alternative.

What exactly are congressional R's proposing? Just a benefit cut or something else?

With Medicaid, the R's proposals are merely to tighten up eligibility for able-bodied people and to prevent illegals from getting Medicaid coverage.

Nothing but lies and distortions from the MSM. What's new?

I think it's hilarious that you guys think you can talk Trump supporters into voting for the woke/DEI/socialist party. If you seriously want to get these people's votes back then you need to drop the woke/DEI/socialist agenda.

I understand not voting for someone you disagree with. I do not understand voting for someone doing the exact opposite of what you have claimed to support.

Republicans are more likely to be self-employed, Democrats are more likely to have crappy jobs,
so who is doing all the good jobs?...

It won't happen.
Because...................?
We may look back on this vote as the turning point.

I guess it's possible that many former GQP voters would vote otherwise in the future, but I wouldn't make any assumptions. And who knows what voter accessibility is going to look like in the future.

Congress knows what this means in the big picture. So we're seeing their true colors now.

No, GQP voters as you put it will not budge but regular GOP will and Josh Hawley (among others) know that.
