Those Christmas cards you get from them are nothing but public relations and a bit of advertising. Those millions of dollars in goods they give to hurricane victims are a tax write off, and a means of clearing the shelves of slow moving merchandise plus it create goodwill in the community and the nation which will hopefully turn into sales and new customers. And those bell ringers at Christmas time in front of the stores are there to put you in a giving mood; that is to buy, buy, buy.
